this is a little bit of subject. When i switch from high stall to low stall it takes a while(2-3 seconds) before i feel it switch is that normal.
You buy cheap - you get cheap. Buy it expensive once or buy it cheap several times. Not trying to disrespect you, but $165 and I can program it the way I want it. Sold!:beers2: BTW Brody- your car is a freakin Land Yatch. It's got to be 20' long. I love them HUGE Buicks!:TU:
Brody,The lack of performance or lazyness since your carb change is probably more from the lack of the kickdown, than from the lack of the switch pitch feature. I run the Lokar unit that special57 mentioned on my 64 Riv and it works good and looks good, the switch itself is mounted on the tranny with a nice stainless braided cable running up to the rear carb linkage. That being said you still need to decide how you want to activate the switch pitch and I do not know if any of these controllers will do both for you.
This surprises me, and maybe it's a function of the case restrictor diameter. At a healthy part-throttle romp before I shift from 1st to 2nd around 2500-3000 rpm, the moment I let off the switch my converter's stall drops so quickly it will actually chirp the tires a bit then chirp them again at the 1-2 shift. My stock trans didn't react quite that quickly, but it was still a much quicker transition than 2-3 seconds. o No: Devon
I thought it was going to work the way you described. But my ET is still consistent. Every once in a while it will run a tenth faster. When it does run faster it is when it switches faster.
I agree you get what you pay for. I wanted to gauge what these were going for, and for the same money I am going to give Bruce's controller a shot. I will let you all know how it works. I also agree the main problem is I have to get the throttle kick down installed, but the sw pitch should help out also.
