Hi Mike, This is the my reasoning behind the "48 hour" deal.. sellers working in good faith, with the respondants in the order to which they showed interest, is the goal here, nothing more. But there has to be a deal struck in a reasonable time frame. I suggest that be a couple days.. if the buyer is wishy-washy and can't pull the trigger, the seller should then inform this individual that they are moving on to the next guy on the list. I offer these as guidlines, policy, regulation..whatever we want to call them. The reality is that I doubt that there will be any real change in the operations of the classifeds, as in the past most folks are already adhereing to the priciples of "good faith" negotiations. JW
Dwane it would have been nice if I was informed correctly from the seller instead of being lied to, that is where I have the problem. I would not view what me and Chris started as a fuss, apparently these rules have already existed but there are a choice few who decide to make their own rules and obliterate what's suppose to happen. I do know that YO sells sill plates, and they are New GM and not NOS, so they are incorrect for my application because I am anal about my car. The difference is as stated in the above post. Thank you for your kind offer on the sill plates but I have already acquired a set thanks to JW. I am sorry you feel this as whining, but if Chris and I didn't let the cat out of the bag it would ultimately mean more people getting jacked around on that section. It would only have been a matter of time before something bigger happened. I have no regrets bringing this entire episode to life, I only regret not choosing my words from the beginning a little differently to those I came into contact with who disagreed with me.
for sale forum I'm sorry if I'm repeating what has already been said, I haven't read all the posts. I don't have that much time! But, why aren't we made to post a FIXED price for these parts and stick to it? I have heard so many here talk about how e-bay has over inflated the real value of cars and parts, and it seems to me the same thing is happening here! I'm new to the Buick world as I only recently aquired my GSX and I am looking for a pile of parts to restore it, but am completely in the dark as to what I should be paying for these parts. That's MY short coming, but prices jumping all over the place by what people are willing to pay verses what they should be worth, sure doesn't help. Just my 2 cents worth. Dale
Some people refuse to read the rules, and we don't read every thread that comes across the board. Now, with the new policy, every thread in the sale forums is moderated before it is publicly posted.
Why do we see adds for parts without prices then all the time? this is also the reason why you used to see someone jumping into the for sale ad requesting price and location be posted all the time.
