The only "reality" to any of these shows is that they are clones of one another and none have any originality. Although I have to say Gas Monkey was entertaining. That Mopar show I hate with a passion though. Any time I have to listen to a show where I hear 20 beeps in one minute to blank out profanity, I'm done. If for no other reason that the beep itself is so unbelievably annoying to listen to I have to turn it off.

I like how it started as a '71 coupe and went to a '72 post with a '70 front end and from a green bench interior to a black buckets. Are those '67 LeMans seats?

I watch any and all car shoes like this one, can't get enough! Of course you watch with a grain of salt. TV vs reality and all...

I especially love garage squad and graveyard cars because I've learned a ton from those shows.

Swapping a hardtop for a post? Major violation, how'd they think no one would notice?? Now I gotta see that episode for myself....

Amazing how the 1970 parts fit the 1972 car. :Dou:

What happened to the rear bumper center medallion ??

    Very entertaining TV.

Is this a 72, Jason said the one on the show was a 71? Or at least the car they started with. I didn't see the show to see what they ended up with?

About two years ago I was having breakfast in a restaurant in Millis, MA. The people in the next booth were talking about some "reality" show. One was saying that he had rented an antique snowmobile to a film crew for $375 for two days, so that some "bidder" could "find" it when they bid on a "locked" storage garage. I haven't watched that type of show since.

First question is why did they pay that much for a $700.00 car to start with ? Maybe they had the parts already to fix it.

Dang, the front bumper, grille, and hood were an easy grand or more! That was one of the straightest front ends I've seen in a while. I'm surprised you let that one go with all the parts that were there, frames can be had for a couple hundred bucks!

I thought they were 66-67 LeMans/GTO seats too ... they just don't look right in that car.

Im burned out from this summer. You'd be surprised how tiring it is getting all these good deals. Its hard work! If its still there in the spring, I'll take it off the guy's hands out of the goodness of my heart. Just because I'm that kind of a guy.

Yes, that's the show. But he's not nearly the pain in the butt Duane from Coddington's show was. While watching Rudolph the other night, I couldn't help but notice the elf boss (not very nice to Hermey) was a ringer for Duane...

Oh, I see, the '70 Chevelle look-a-like gets new exhaust and an all star thread, while the step-child gets maybe next year...Alan, you were so right about this guy

I don't know. I've never seen the car in person, or the show. After reading Jason's description I remembered the Post Coupe ad on CL and thought it matched up.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think the same dealer has a nice black 71 GS 350, but it has a 72 rear bumper.

You should be around the "Ass Monkey".
Unfortunately, he has problem dropping "F-Bombs" in the middle of an Auction, at anytime & it doesn't matter Who is around. (There was some talk about 'If You can't control Him, Not only will He be barred from the Sale, so will Your whole Crew.")
He also likes to disrupt the Sale by walking up to the Auctioneer, and slapping the podium with a ring so it sounds like the Hammer has fallen, after his bid, to try & stop the Bidding, and well as walking into the Sale with his "Boy Toy", Backer, Dennis & some Moose, carrying a Boom Box, to let everyone know He Has Arrived.

That clone car has been on craigslist for months. It isn't going anywhere.

The car on CL is the one that was the "finished" 71 Skylark they bought...or so they tried to make us believe it was.

I actually can watch the Mopar show because the arrogant boss is actually working (and a damn good bodyman) which tends to separate that show from most of the "do this with your money and get rich schemes". If this house, car, pickers, flipping is how we create an economy....we are screwed. At least the Mopars are nice collector cars and done to the best quality available. I like a knowitall that knows a lot. Overhaulin, gas monkey, and a lot of others are quantity, not quality....Sears catalogue cars at best. The Count and the Dallas flippers are just an insult on any car person(s) intelligence.

That must be that ultra rare, 350 Stage 1 people talk about. Remember the Stage 1 was a 350 and the Stage 2 was a 455. I can never keep it straight.

What a bunch of a$$clowns. A GS stage 1 clone is bad enough but doing it completely wrong is something else. A post car, WTF. And the idiots passing it as a rare option, it has the rare vent windows. That is why I stopped watching these reality car shows. Nothing but a bunch of idiots making money off the Baarrett/Jackson Syndrome.

The reality behind "reality shows" is that they aren't...They are usually the most scripted and choreographed things on TV. I saw the one episode that was posted here, and that was enough for me. Crap with a capital C. Rudeness and obnoxious behaviour sells, though what most people don't realize is that in a societal sense what ends up being popular on TV lowers the bar by giving bad behaviour credibility and public acceptance.
