I noticed your coolant temp up around 185-190 idling around town in traffic. You said your fan controller wasn't working but, why do you need it? Those temps are fine in heavy traffic.

Also, your vacuum was only about 8 in at idle. Didn't you install a vacuum pump? Do your power brakes work with vacuum that low? Just wondering.

    Morning.

The coolant temperature actually got to 215-degrees without the fans working. On a hot summer day of 96-degrees, my coolant temp never exceeded 190-degrees ... even while doing a few burnouts on that day.

I do have vacuum pump installed; when I'm cruising @ 25-mph, I noticed @ 8-10 vacuum ... but when I get on the gas pedal a bit, vacuum reading does go up @ 16. Brakes work great since it's install ... without it ... almost 50% braking power.

Ralph just called; he had to fee my dual Derale electric fans from the Regal's fuse box (the way the dyno shop rewired them), and connect to ignition (Derale 4000-cfm puller fans draw 25-amps). Also, my power steering gear box was FINE ... the PUMP is what needed replacing. Ralph is ordering me a Buick 455 PS pump for FREE ... because of his wrong call on the gear box. My fans now operate as before ... on at 170-degrees, and fan #2 @ 10-degrees later. So-Far-So-Good, Thank God.

    Good afternoon.

Does anyone have a Gbody Buick Regal power steering pump with connection hoses complete?

Yes it is normal. As you turn the wheel the power steering pump loads the engine, lowering the engine rpm, and lowering the vacuum for a second.

I'd trust the Autometer fuel pressure gauge.

I don't know what you were trying to show in the third video.

    Hey, No_Lift. Thanks much again.

The 3rd video was "going" to be a little display of torque, but the steering is really bad.
A lot of the videos I upload is for me to "see something" that I can't get while driving. LOL

    Good morning ALL.

I spoke with my engine builder Dan Smith of D&S Performance a few days ago regarding my engine shut down as soon as I remove my foot from the gas pedal after a burnout launch or tire shock. He felt it was my FUEL/AIR mixture ... and he was correct. The first thing I did was make sure the Regal was on level ground, then check both front and rear float levels by removing the check screws. Only 3 tiny trickles of fuel dripped out; float levels were perfect. I then went to air/fuel mixture screws, adjusting the 4 of them to the same position/turns.

After 3 attempts with 3 engine bogs/shut downs, I feel I got it RIGHT again. I did 3 tire-shock launches ... NO ENGINE SHUT OFFS thus far. I am going to spend a bit more time tomorrow, adjusting my Holley 850 with vacuum the gauge plumbed in ... to make sure I adjust with no issues afterward, while getting the most vacuum reading possible at 1000-rpm idle.

My replacement/part change Dakota Digital Dual Fan Controller arrives from Summit today. The 4th Ron Francis fan controller completely failed 2 hours after my last YouTube video a couple of days ago. Both relays were TOO HOT TO HOLD in your hands when I changed them out ... fan controller was hot as well as it died. Two guys told me that if the relays got hot like that, the ground was really bad (? IDK).

If all fails after this; I'm going to a simple motor driven Flex fan with a shroud.

how are you going to address the bad ground issue with the new controller .. or are you planning on burning that one up as well ? :Do No::idea2:

    ... hope not.

Ralph is going to totally free up the dual electric fans, and start from scratch implementing the above pieces that only cost a few bucks. They arrive tomorrow.

They bad ground saga is going to be looked into as soon as the dual Derale electric fans are free.

FLEX-455.jpg ... already have this baby in my cart at Summit Racing Equipment as exchange (rest of money will for Dakota Digital fan controller will be refunded to my account) item if God Forbid the Dakota Digital dual fan controller fails. I am aware of the fan spacer ... had it before on my Scotty-455-Regal almost decades ago.

Brian at gbodyparts.com has factory gbody power steering pumps with the factory connecting lines ... he should have it packaged to ship out to me sometime next week. Also, Brian has factory gbody V8 equipped car fan shrouds, if the Dakota Digital controller fails.
