Yes the whole deal in China is flush with the floor. No there no urinal or any other receiving device in there.

 

I could tell you a few stories about experiences in France but they may not pass moderation muster.

I had a really long layover at TPE in Taiwan a few years ago, I saw those toilets and decided I didn’t need to go that bad. Eventually when I broke down I found a stall with a picture of a western style toilet on it.

 

It was more like a wet/ dry vac.

 

You are like George Castansa when he was in India. Refused to use restroom.

 

Notice that there are no grab bars to hold yourself, or hooks to hang a handbag or camera to. The handicapped toilets, and hotels all seemed to have western sit down toilets.

 

Yes here is a 5 star set up from my on camera in Chendu. There are too many options on the control panel.

 

In Russia, you never know what kind of toilet you will get... And bring your own toilet paper!

 

I can top Russia with Tanszania. Try on one million flys buzzing and biting while trying to operate. They just destroy your concentration.

 

I was in New York (Central Park) last year and my wife mentioned how nasty the toilets were to an attendant. The attendant was cheerful and blamed it on the asians-said ‘they crazy-they stand on the toilets to use them!’
