Thanks Larry :TU: Im glad somebody gets my humor My wife looks at me like im a idiot half the time, which i guess could be true to some extent I mean,i do water money on cars and such
been a 135 in turbo 94 supra. was about as fast as a stock form camaro of the same year and cost double. other than a supra what else have they built that is extremley amazing. the gs lexus i guess is the only thing i can think of. put the same turbo on the camaro what have you got. ---------- Post added at 06:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:39 PM ---------- ive driven almost every toyota type ever built. even drove a toyota corona. some people think yotas are the greatest thing since slice bread. ive hated everyone ive ever drove and didnt understand the hype.
A piss-poorly build peice of crap with a hi-tech compound twin turbo sitting in the trunk that some hillbilly couldnt figure out how to use I really dont care if you like Toyotas or not, and why would I? My cars run just fine with or without you liking them:TU:
Dont get us started on NC:rant: Besides, half the people in Charlotte are from WV, so Ive got backup:bla:
what that made no sense to me. i think your implying that i know nothing of turbos. you do realize i own a 13 sec duramax and have worked on many 11 and 12 sec cummins engines and some dmaxs. so i do know a little about them. question what toyota do you have that you have built? lm not trying to make this in a pissing match but im not impressed with any of them other than the supra. it was a quite an expensive car for the 300 some hp it had. i havent driven a new tundra however i hear there not half bad.
Well if its 16 people from each side, we might be able to get a full set of teeth:moonu: Sorry boys I couldn't resist.
hey now im only missing two mom and dad werent cousins however they did meet in the trailer park.
I was being snide about the turbo because you asked a silly question. As for diesels, I hate the stinkin' things, I would say piss on them, but they need that to run now:laugh: Ive owned 15, maybe 20 Toyotas, (its hard to remember all the cars Ive had) some RWD Celicas, several Supras and a Lexus GS350. But mostly trucks. Ive built a few of them but mostly I just run them into the ground. Thats why I love 'yotas, I hate having a DD that I have to work on, because if Im working on my beater Im not working on my toys:Brow: I started out hating Toyotas, but I got a truck with 180,000mi in a trade and figured what the heck, Ill beat this thing to death then crush it. 4 years later a dear killed it:ball:, it had 340,000 hard miles on it. Up till then my S/10 DD pickups lasted about a month each and I went through a pile of themou: I learned that Ill have more money to spend on my Buicks/hotrods/classics/sportscars/and other projects if I have a Toyota in the driveway:Brow:
I detest the smell, and really cant stand the noise. When I was a GM Tech I saw plenty of the things dragged back to the dealership broken:af: It seemed like every goofball in the oil-field thinks they need a new diesel with Banks this and BullyDog that crammed under the hood and 40''+mud tiresou: Then on top of that they try and run red fuel:af: Ever try and tell a 19year-old kid that just got a their first real job and went 60-70K in debt for a truck that that they need 10K in repairs and theyve voided their warranty? It gets old fast, Ive had everything from crying to fighting mad. I even had to knock one mouthy SOB out:laugh: The guy cussed me then kicked my stack and dented the lower door:af: And thats besides the PITA of the actual repairs on the things:rant: Maybe if you dont screw around under the hood and dont mind the smell/noiseo No: But Im out.
You cant smell mine. It is noisy though. Mines tuned but it gets worked. Its not lifted or any of that junk.
I have a truck covered in wood... It's a Lincoln Blackwood. But not really a truck, it's a big car. Not bad for a WV hillbilly living in KY. I don't like y0tas, except the motors and trannys are good. And except the old Landcruisers. Especially with upgraded engines and trannys. I don't like deisels either. Except for tractors and mowers. Has this got ANYTHING to do with Buicks? Hmm,... didn't think so. Jim
The only point I can come up with is its winter time and I cant get anything usefull done because its a nasty mud pit outside. So I might as well waste time talking about random crap:laugh:
I just want to add on here that I should not have said Nick should be kicked off the board.... If we keep on topic and focus on the positive then he can be a great asset to the discussion. I was having a bad day and took it out on Nick which is not right....
Sean I aprreciate the apology I also have to reiterate,i never once said that the sbb cannot run well You ned to try and not take what i say out of context due to your passion for something All i said, and will continue to say is that there arent alot of quick street type"NORMALLY ASPIRATED" builds out there and that alot of it i believe is due to same input, same output mentality and poss unwillingness to try diff things a times With that said, i am trying to get my hands on some rods and piston in another thread on here,if they would get back to me,and poss look into building a another 350 for my car,as im not sure im happy going forward with the 455 swap I really regret selling my 350 parts,as i ahd a very nice littel combo, that with some tweaking i believe had a TON LEFT IN IT Im always up for a challenge for sure! Good day sir
