You guys forget where Joe lives, here in CA even minor moving violations are usually no less than $300-400 plus hes a commercial driver, I've just ask the cop to beat me about the head and neck with his nightstick and we'll call it even..........
fight it. 99% of the time the have pr tem judges in traffic court. respectfully ask the court to been seen by a real judge and not a protem. They will have to scramble to find in judge in the court house willing to see your case. You will be there all day and the eazy money the cop expected to make and be out of there by noon will turn into a 445pm 5pm day. he will say screw it and dismiss. worked every time for me
When the cop stopped you and said : YOU WERE DOING 38 MPH . You should have said : " THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE ; I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN OUT A HOUR "
Well I'm out court date moved till the 31st I don't have nothing on my record what so ever it's been clean for about 18 years I'm going to get one of these attorney's that do traffic tickets and like Tom said California speeding tickets are crazy expensive..so we will see Thanks again for everyone's opinions You guys are awesome
My last speeding ticket, and that was a long time ago, was fortunately in a local municipal court. While I sat waiting my turn to be called I listened to every lame and stupid excuse under the sun and the judge wasn't letting anyone off. I figured he was either in a bad mood or he wasn't as stupid as those idiots thought. When my turn came I went up and sat in front of him while he read the charge of speeding (47 in a 25, not good). He asked me how I wish to plead. I told him I was guilty, that I did exactly what the citation states but I was there to ask him if he could reduce the charge to a non-point violation rather than speeding, which I believe would have carried a 3 point penalty on my license. He said he would do that for me but the fine would remain the same. I said "sold", and that was the end of it. I think the guy just wanted someone to be honest with him and I was the first one to step up to the plate.
I suspect most states have many more insurance surcharges than you realize. For transporting illegal liquor N.C. gives you 12 points on your license (resulting in revocation) and a 340% increase in insurance premiums for 3 years. Same thing for DWI, pre-arranged racing, ect.
Wow that's crazy Your going to need a car faster than that trans am Burt Reynolds drove that's for sure
I got a ticket this spring, for which I took DD. Easy enough. When the cop printed out the ticket and I signed it, I instinctively said "thanks". Then I said I don't know why I said that, and he said "we have a competition at HQ to see who can make the most people thank us. " LOL
My best friends next door neighbor was the court clerk. He never toilet papered his house so his and my tickets completely disappeared. Start knocking on doors!
Jennifer got pulled over speeding in her red Mustang GT. Officer tells her, and I quote...."I could hardly catch you"- she gets let off with a warning. If I pulled that, I'd be getting a body cavity search on the grass before getting arrested
Traffic school is generally designed to reduce traffic points as opposed to insurance points. This can be modified to some extent by statue depending on the state.
Commercial drivers in a commercial truck doesn't do anything in California Traffic school won't help it's a bummer
Feel your pain on that one J-Cook. I got cited for 55 in a 50 once. Heather got stopped on her way home from work in Oakwood, notorious for ticketing people for single digit speeding and never issuing warnings, doing 40 in a 25. Yep, she got a written warning. All I have to say is "deep V-neck scrub top and very full.....eyes...."
Here in Texas Defensive Driving gets full dismissal. Costs about 150.00 all in. Class C (regular operator) only. Class A or B no help.
