We've had a lot of registries in the Buick community. GSX, 1970 four speed. Lots of 'em. Here's a new one. Please place your re-body here (unless the title is already abnormal). Thank you!
Over 6 months and not a single car has been placed here yet. Maybe no one has ever done one? All those discussions about rebody for nothing.
Well this is one that I was almost stuck with. 71 skylark body & frame, 70 GSX VIN, body tag and few parts. Note the vin is glued in, vinyl top holes and emblem holes... I have many more pictures... .
I've got a funny feeling many people don't want their re-body GS in a registry for all to see. (for various reasons)
18 months and no one has come forward. No pun intended, but I will borrow from the "X" files, "The Truth is Out There." If I personally know of 5, I can't even imagine how many are out there. That being said, I want to rely on owners coming forward, however if someone comes across something that is being misrepresented, like the example above, then that is certainly fair game.
There was one yellow X I almost bought. This is going back to 2003/ 2004. Car was in Michigan. Rot box. Honestly needed a rebody. Car sold. It was restored a short time later but I cant believe someone fixed what was there and didn't rebody it
X2, you expect people to register the fact that they did something illegal/dishonest? I know someone who did a rebody on a 70 Stage1. I would not reveal/advertise that.
I thought about doing it with that 73 Stage 1 4 speed a few months back that’s so far gone in Nebraska but in the end I couldn’t stand the fact I would always know it was Not Real so I passed.
No rebodies here but it sure would have been easier. When this car was sold the new owner got a photo album and thumb drive with hundreds of photos of the entire restoration so there were no secrets about what was replaced.
Slower than a 390 automatic Torino but busier than a lemonade stand during a Wisconsin winter. NOM, shall we include restamps as well?
I have a 70 gs 455 that needs a rebody, but I’m gonna roadkill build it. Do we need a separate registry for cars not worth restoring, but too cool to scrap?
I think a lot of us have a few of those. I can think of three right off the top of my head that I know of...
