If your just cruising and fun driving you have to figure that a close ratio trans is designed for higher HP and lower torque the GS 400 is still a torque engine and IMHO a wide ratio would be a better choice. Now a 69/70 Boss 302 Mustang a close ratio is required due to the large ports, high(ish) HP, hi revs and low torque.
