Even if it does, from what I read, if it was accepted for C4C and the dealer was paid the $4500 but didn't crush it, it's a $15,000 fine. So, in essence that dealer, IF CAUGHT, would "pay" $10,500 for a GNX. If I said "For sale; one 1987 GNX for $10,500" how many takers would I have???
If it was taken in and the engine blown it's out there right now somewhere and probably not crushed yet. Locally we have 2 yards for these vehicles and they will be going to the crusher soon in 2010. Until then you can buy parts and many people have already done so. They can't sell the bare body since the VIN tag is attatched. Anything else can go. I have seen some nice vehicles in these 2 yards and it bothers me. One was a late 70's Chevy truck that was extremely nice with no rust and new paint!
