While technically I was born in Illinois, at the ripe old age of 4 my mother whisked me and my twin brother back to her home town of London Ontario to keep the Canadian in us. I then moved faaaaaaar away to Waterloo for school and never left.
waterloo - one hour east of london. i went to uwo in london and graduated in '69. i also worked for bf goodrich in kitchener, right next door to waterloo.
You'd be shocked how much KW's changed since 74. There's no point in really distinguishing it as 2 different cities. I've only been here a decade and it doesn't look anything like it did when I moved here.
Anyone into mega HP street cars should check out page 78 of the Canadian Hot Rod Magazine (Issue 5). I wrote this article about turbocharging, part 2 is in the next issue coming out this summer! Any Chapters in Canada has this mag on the shelf and it is also available in an on line version. There is even a picture of Jay Davenport's Twin Turbocharged Buick 350! http://<wbr>www.canadianhotrods.com/
I did not know there was so many Canadian Buick fans here on the V8 Buick site Sweet!! Chris from Meaford Ontario.
Yeah there are a bunch of us! BTW. Checkout the new Canadian Hot Rods magazine where the second part of my article about turbocharging is featured.
WoW there is a lot of us on the site:TU: If the place wasn't so dam big I would say We should all meet in the middle:eek2: I have the space. :beers2:
Looks like it's been awhile since this thread has had a bump . New member from Gibbons ( North of Edmonton ).
There are quite a few members local to the Ottawa area who don't know how to turn on a computer, ...are on other sites, or are too busy with other projects !! ou:
Good to see more Canadians chiming in! What's amazing is how many are from Alberta; - which is funny because I hardly ever see a Buick at a car show here, just the usual 2,437 1957 Chevies and the 1,648 Camaros and converted from 6 cylinder Mopars. We should see if we can put together an Alberta Buick meet somewhere in Alberta next summer...with the new carbon tax it'll be too expensive to drive anywhere else...anyone interested?
