Contact Chris Jones, at Jones Buick in Whitehall, Pa. or Lancaster, Pa. and see if he'll bring the X--- Sam
John, I just pre-registered my yellow 70 GSX Stage 2 iron head 4 spd. Will there be trailor parking? It has not been on a long road trip since 1986 and don't want to chance it !! Thanks Bill Lagna
John Hi, I'm a little new to this forum. My skylark is nothing fancy, just a driver. Still, I'd like to join in on the event. I've always wanted to go to Carlisle. Count me in. What "club" name do I use to help out in the tent situation? Also, if I may ask, maybe someone could add some "Carlisle pointers" or would be willing to start a "Carlisle tips" thread? It would help calm the "I don't know what the heck I am doing" jitters. Thanks, Tom
Oh what the heck... I'm in! I just pre-registered. Now I gotta swap transmissions and get a new air freshener for the skylark. Neither the super-turbine nor the spongebob airfreshener have got enough in them to make the trip. HA! So much to do!
i am planning a trip to visit friends and family in PA very soon.. hope i can make this event!! for more cars, i can contact the Kelsch bros (rat roaster and joe kelsch) and give them a heads up. :TU:
Johnno, I will be finding out tomorrow when the deadline is. I believe as long as we can get 25 people to pre-register before the day of the event, then we get our tent. I am also going to find out the cost for the tent even if we don't get 25 people. I rather see all these beauties protected. Sam, I will give Chris Jones a call tomorrow. Do you know if he has an email address? Looking forward to meeting everyone! Thanks Bill and Tom for pre-registering! Bill, there is trailer parking but I am not sure where. When I call tomorrow, I will see if I can find out more for you. Tom, The GM Nats is not only a car show but also a super big swap meet with acres and acres of everything that is car related. Items that are handy to have along: Folding chair, a wagon or pull/push cart (I wish I had one with when I was down for the spring show. I bought any alternator and boy it got heavy carrying that thing around...), umbrella, snacks (they have food stands, but to save a couple bucks, snacks and drinks are good to have with.) sun tan lotion, sunglasses, meds (for those pesky headaches that always come at the wrong time, PART numbers... (I noticed last time I was down there were many parts that were nos with part numbers but since I don't have a very good memory, I had no idea if they were for a Buick or not. So if there was of anything of interest that you are looking for, make a list. Also if there are misc. items that you could get from eBay but are thinking of trying to find at Carlisle, print out some eBay completed auction pages to bring with for price references.) Basically thats all I can think of. We are all going to have a great time so the condition of your car is not top priority. Believe me; my LeSabre is far from perfect. Paul... we are getting close! 11 people/cars to go! I do need everyone that plans on attending to pre-register! Randall, More the merrier! If you can contact the Kelsch brother's I would appreciate! Remember! When you pre-register, you must use BPG as the club name! Thanks all!
hey thanks for the tip John. A toy wagon and the old Ebay printouts are good ideas. I'm really interested in the swap meet part. If we don't get enough pre-registered for the tent, I'd be willing to chip in a little more, if it wasn't too much. That shade will probably be a precious thing that weekend. It must'a been karma that I took two weeks off when I did! ...guess I should join the BPG, huh?
John, I will talk to my buddies todayand make sure that they know to pre register. Iam sure of at least 2 more. I wanted to bring my GS but I have it in pieces getting ready for the AACA Gran National Meet in July. Thought it would be back together by now. Paul Gawel
Update! Well... I got a hold of Carlisle and the regards to the tent... For what I thought was going to be a really big tent for our cars... well it's not. The tent is only 20 x 20 feet. I was upset with them for not specifying the size of this tent on their web site. Anyhow, the ordeal with the tent is this, since we have never displayed cars there before, The cost for this 20x20 tent is $145. She said that the tent is for the club to do whatever. If we get 25 cars to pre-register, then the car show will reimburse me for the tent. I need to give them another call to see if we can bring and setup our own tent at no cost since my brother might be able to get a bigger tent for us to party under. I do apologize for any info that I have already given regarding this tent ordeal. IMPORTANT INFO On Friday, June 18th, whether you are pre-registered or if you plan on registering that day, you must go to GATE 3. At Gate 3 is where you sign in, get your goodie bag and directions to park. If you are bringing your car on a trailer, you still go to gate 3. Gate opens at 7 am. Also my brother and I will be camping on the grounds and will be right next to the show field in spot NE37. Just look for the wild women and beer and you'll find us  :beer
John, Are all of us going to be able to park together? If anyone shows up that did not pre register can they still park with us? I have been to both previous GM Nationals and the cars are split up into classes. Just want to make sure we can all be together. Paul
Paul, I will find out for sure tomorrow. I am going to make it very clear to them that since we are coming as a group, we are going to stick together as a group.
I just got off the phone and I was confirmed that we can park together. I won't be able to straighten the tent ordeal out until Tuesday which is when Christine will be back in the office. I also just received notice that we will have a BPG club banner. Thanks Bruce Hunter! :TU:
John, Did we make the 25? I got my comfirmation yesterday, parking in field CC, hope that is where we all are. See you there Paul and Lynn
