Hello everybody, We (wife and I) just found out that the doctor will have to perform a C-Section in order to deliver the baby safe. IT seems that the baby is too large for my wife to have a safe delivery. I guess he gets he's big head from he's daddy. THe doctor said that the baby is already close to 9lb and my wife's "driveway" is too small ((driveway? o No: )) to let the baby out. Question to you Ladies that have experience this, or gentleman that have had a wife that went through this.. HOw long does it take to recuperate from this? what are the sid effect? anything good about a c-section besides being a quick surgery? Any comments would be great. thanks Marvin
Marvin, I have not had one, Liam came out the "driveway" all 9 lbs. 2oz, but a few of my friends have had them. 6 weeks, no lifting anything heavier then the baby, and if the baby gets any bigger she might be limited to how much she can lift him/her (sorry Marvin I forgot). Other then that I can't think of anything different then having it through the "driveway" BTW that just cracks me up  . Except for keep the incision (sp?) clean and don't make her laugh hard or she could pop a staple :eek2: Best of luck to you & your wife. Beth
listen to your doctor my stubborn wife INSISTED, against her doctors advice, on a normal delivery. after our 9 plus pound sons head rearranged her insides, she had to have reconstructive surgery a year later and let me tell you, our lives are changed forever. what she has had to endure because she avoided a c section is far far worse than the c section would have been.
ITs a boy (Matthew Aiden Manzano) THe doctor told my wife that if she wants a normal delivery, the baby can break an arm or something. so that's why we decided on a c-section NOt make her laugh?... :boring: I'll suggest the doctor to staple and glue her shut! My wife is more concern about picking up the baby if he gets to big (she almost cryes to think that she wont be able to pick up the baby) I hope everything goes ok thanks
Just avoid looking over the curtain at the surgery. It ain't pretty. Really. Resist the temptation. You'll be a lot better off. Although it is really major surgery, it is very routine. Recovery is a week to begin feeling OK, and about a month to be up and around without fear. A full recovery is about 8 weeks.
When my wife had her C-section they asked me to leave till the baby was out, Then I was allowed back in after they were stiching her up. 6 weeks is about what it took to get her back in tune! :beer
My "X" wife had our boy C section . I did get to be there and it wasn't the prettiest site . Mom and my son were fine . Little Nick came to this world wieghing 12lbs. 4 ou: ounces ! Not a typo ! He was the biggest baby to be born at that hospital in the last 4 years . Today he still the biggest kid his age at school . :TU:
THanks for all your reply's ladies and gentleman... I just got word from the wife that she is schedule for tomorrow at 4pm. I wont be here for a couple of days, so i hope everybody has a good weekend and stay safe!
Welcome baby Manzano Welcome to the world Matthew Aiden Manzano :TU: (ok so it's a few hours early) Beth & Dana
C-Section Marvin, good luck to you and your wife. She'll be fine. By the way, what'ca doing parkin' your Buick in a Corvair " driveway " ? Wha--- I hadda ask. LOL
I had a c-section, it wasn't too bad. They practically had to kick me out of the hospital though, 48 hours after major surgery is not long enough! Stupid HMO. She should be able to pick up the baby just fine. Believe me, she'll know when she's overdoing it. I was riding my horse after 5 weeks, but just at the walk. I guess the plus side is that the driveway doesn't get all torn up. :spank: Anyway, how'd it go? P.S. Congratulations!
Hi Everybody, Everything went well...smooth ride! I saw everything while it was happening. Its amazing how the human body can take so much torture. It was an AMAZING experience!!! THe wife and son are doing very well. I got home from the hospital yesterday and the wife and son are looking better each day. THANK GOD!! thanks again everybody for your kind words :TU:
