Not Blasphmey at all, Untill a year ago I had my 455/400 in a 84 Cutlass and loved it. I actually like the styling of the cutlass better than the Regals anyway... I like the layout of the dash on the cutlasses. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again.... In fact, I might just be doing it again when the GS finishes falling apart:ball: (only till I find another GS tho:TU: )

Do what you want... its your engine, your car.

I agree about the oiling; from what I've read the Olds system is not as weak as the Buick system. The biggest problem is pumping the heads full of oil at high rpms; restrictors usually fix that. I've never heard of them having poor idle oil pressure or the pump losing prime like the Buick does--my 307 has 40lbs of pressure at a WARM idle.

If you want to really be creative, try a F-Body. I had both big blocks in them and enjoyed it. Well at least until the Buick ruined my transmission:Brow: .

    455 old or buick

it depends on what you get to put it in too.if you get a car with a 307 olds engine then most of your old 455 stuff will be easy to replace as they are basiclly the same on the outside.mounts,ac,alternater, powersteering brackets.oil fill, fan shroud.possibly some exhaust. which will help keep budget down.thats if you want an olds 455.but the 455 buick you would spend some time setting up as not much matches from any motor available in the gbodys. i did custom make some stuff to fit my 455 in my regal and tryed several combos before i figured out what i liked . good luck and check my post in parts for sale as i have a g body 8.5 rearend(grand nat)and a 430 engine (early design of 455).
    good luck andy:beer
