my wife now, who is 100% Mexican, calls me the Mexican gringo chef! You keep striving toward food excellent brother! You can see on the Food Network, most of the best chefs are men!
I’ve always done all of our grilling but since I retired I’ve taken on a lot of the cooking. Spicy is good!
You gotta go with linguini with a dish like that! Spaghetti is to pedestrian for something with shrimp in it, linguini will take the dish to the next level.(IMO) Don't get me wrong, I do love spaghetti and meatballs with a tomato based marinara sauce but its not as good with the linguini. That's why they make the different pastas.
I’m gonna go by Whole Foods and pick up some spinach linguine today! I think that’s going to do just fine for this. I realize that a solid Cabernet is not for seafood but, I’m going with it anyway because I like it!
all right Brad, I know you’ve felt the absolute power of standing over your own grill with some tongs or a spatula in your hand while you are cooking those burgers and dogs! I’m pretty sure it’s in the DNA of every man!
Well, if grilling counts here’s my version of a Tomahawk. I also like to grill fish so let’s add some Mahi.
Not much of a wine guy myself, I would probably go with a porter or a stout because that's what I like, probably not the "proper" choice either but that's how I would roll.
I do ALL the cooking here. Usually grill at least three times a week on charcoal... even throughout the winter. Just last night I made shrimp over a mix with spinach and regular linguine, and then topped it off with melted butter, garlic, and a splash of half @ half, all heated. Turned out great!
That looks great Darren!! I'm alone at my house, I was eating out a lot before the corona shut down. I'm going to try your recipe soon.
I actually just finished eating it! went with straight spaghetti for the pasta because of time constraints. I have to tell you though, it was better than any restaurant scampi I’ve had in a long time! wish I was close by, I’d make it for you! Super simple as you can see and incredibly flavorful. And frozen shrimp is cheap!
And I have to be honest guys, I skipped the wine tonight and made an amazing raspberry martini as you can see! Let me share the martini recipe with you all this is the original recipe from the bonefish restaurant first generation menu: 1: add ice to your martini shaker and rinse so the ice is clear. Pour the ice cold water into your up glass. 2: add 3 parts Smirnoff raspberry vodka 2 parts razzmatazz raspberry cordial 1 part sweet-and-sour mix, finest call 3: shake 20 times 4: empty ice cold water from up glass 5: Pour Martini into up glass 7/8ths full 6: splash in 7-Up soda (only 7-Up) 7: squeeze in lime wedge 8: Drop in fresh raspberries 9: raise a glass to anything you can think of! 10: enjoy! (Women love this!)
I do all the cooking as well Todd. I cook as well as I fix cars. I used to have to help my mother when i was a kid so I picked up on it at an early age. I grew up in a Greek household so I make alot of Greek dishes.
At the next GSCA nationals, we need to have a designated Cook site over in the camping area where all of us can get together and share our incredible cooking with each other! I know Mike and Fernando are anchors in the camp area, would be a great place to chill out and cook!
