No way I'd give you grief. Looks fine to me. After it's under the hood for a while it gets all crinkly anyway. I think you're on the right track. Plus if you're going to try a pin on like I have one my car they can be thin. I have 10 zsus connectors holding it down. I just cut the cowl off and put a stage2 scoop on it.

I think that is an awsome looking hood. How much would it cost to have one made I wonder?

So . . . when does mass production start?! :Brow:

I'm sure there are a bunch of other people that would love to have a hood like that!

    Beautiful execution.

To answer the question about the hood scoops being any more functional now that they're higher, the answer would be no. The surface of the hood is higher, but so is the boundary layer of air.

What you've done is the best approach, taking in pressurized air from the base of the windshield. Keeping the GS "look" was an excellent move!

I'm going to do some more testing on it at speed and see how it acts. A bunch of us are trying to get together for a Friday night out at Speedworld the 25th of this month for a Test & Tune. Probably only see about another 10-13 mph over what I've seen "merging" on the freeway  but it'll be more controlled. I haven't changed anything else since the last time I ran my first 11.97, so I think the temps will be about the same as they were in May, less than a billion degrees we've had all summer! See if the cooler air and losing 40 pounds makes any difference. Once that's done, I'll start looking at pulling the hood back off the car and making the new mold.

It's tough to set a price at this point, I need to really get the weight down, which will mean less material and that'll equal less cost to make. I am moving forward with this even if I neve even sold one, it started as a curiosity to see what it may look like and IF I could do it. So far, so good! I also really want t start on the mold for the bracing that'll allow hinges and the hood latch use. Really the only thing getting in my way is that pesky"real" job :(

Once I pull the second hood, which will be another lift off style, I'll try and find someone in the southwest area who has maybe a 10 second 70-72 and see if they'll test it for me at a higher speed. I guess I could put 2.70 gears in my GS and find an isolated stretch.........:pp

This is what I have been thinking about for a long time. Just do not have your skills.

I would be fighting for a place at the front of the line to get one.
