More like 2+ hours to the nearest track to Long Island,NY. E-Town was 1-1/2 with no traffic. Guess it will be dyno tuning for me.
I think that you're in a different time frame than everybody else. I'm 4-5 miles from you and those same three tracks are only an hour from me. Maybe your car is actually a 10 second car! Actually, I'm less than one minute from I-77. I'm sure that it takes you awhile to get to the highway, or you drive really slow.
I don’t know how much a chassis Dyno session runs, but it’s gotta be more than a 2 hour trip to the track plus entry. The track is WAY more fun verses just watching your car spin roller drums, and not going anywhere, plus you don’t get the fun of doing a burnout
I hear you on the fun factor. I would think of going to the track after getting things sorted out on a dyno. I’m going with a Holley Super Sniper ( maybe a nitrous shot in the future) I would like to have someone with more tuning knowledge do a custom tune. At least then I’ll know I’m getting the most out of my build then just running a learned tune once the new motor is done. This way it’s one day and done. Unless I become a tuning expert with the motor currently in the car. Lol
you tune the carb to spec and set timing to spec and when you go to track you play with jets up and down and then play with timing up and down an go by mph. look at the plugs too. do the timing first then play with the rear jetting a A/F meter will get you closer faster with the carb still got to do timing with mph I think you get 3 pulls on the dyno rear wheel kind you do about 6 on the engine only one I bet it is 300 bucks Iknow it was 500 bucks for engine dyno in 1994
after all this babbling by ALL of us, T/A needs to get out as much info and pics of the head so they will sell like hot cakes. the info we are currently getting is like the babe's phone number on the bath room wall. that ain't working too well. what's it going to be T/A.....all or nothing ?

I'm not sure what you're expecting? Like it was mentioned by others earlier in this thread, are you expecting us to build, dyno, and race multiple combinations and provide data for all of it, for you? We created a product for the market and provided all of the information we have for said product so the customer can make an informed purchase. Now it's up to the customers who wanted us to create this product to purchase said product and post the results of their specific combination for others to see.
That's because you can build a 455 for the same money and there is no replacement for displacement (except forced induction). This is an expensive hobby, and with almost 8 out of 10 Americans living paycheck to paycheck, that doesn't leave much play money, and lets face it, there are less expensive options, SBC, LS engines etc.
Yes, you are correct Larry, BUT you can't build a 400/430/455 to take as much power as the skirted block 350. It's been proven to make OVER 1000HP BEFORE needing ANY block strengthening. Tom T.
Thats happened like 2 times... way too small of a pool to make those kind of statements. Get a pile of guys making 600hp plus and we'll see how the block holds up.
