Alan IMHO you can't make it too long, only to short. The suggestion of 1 CD of racing and one of show and parking lot launches would be great. :TU:
Alan, Any news yet? Or do I have to wait and have my wife buy it for me as a Christmas present. Lon Bauer
UPDATE - First a Thanks. Quite a few people sent me their pictures and Video footage to add to the production. Thanks you Mike Attwood, Mike Trommetter, David Gramlow, Adam (S)martin, Ken Lisk, and John Campbell. Originally I had planned to use a work computer for the project, but - Go Figure ?!?!? - Its being used pretty heavily at work, so that didn't pan out. I had purchased a BRANDY NEW 250 gig. Hard drive to store all of the raw video on. I transferred my 9 tapes, Kens 4 tapes, Mike T's tape and footage from John and Mike A's DVD's onto this drive. I then began the editing and had about 1 hour boiled down. .....Then the brand new Hard drive took a life-ending CRAP :ball: That flushed well over 40 hours of "Playtime" down the toilet :af: We all know how scarce playtime is too. Ohhh....and Western Digital wouldn't honor their warantee - I purchase about half a Mil. in computer wares every year were I work - you can bet on me not spending ANY money with them ever again  I was pretty discouraged but rebuilt HumptyDumtpy with dual 160 gig drives that I was able to "borrow" and went to task on retransferring all the materials again to Hard disk. I began editing and making test DVD's seeing how much (timewise) could be put on a DVD while still maintiaining a high quality. I have a buddy of mine thats got well over 20g into a home theater system and I was over there quite a few nites testing. What I found was I needed better software !! So....more software, more testing and I'm happy at a level that puts about 1.5 hrs of great quality Video with great quality audio on a single 4.7 gig DVD. The final porject is going to use 2 DVD's.....and possibly a CD-R of Stills Im about half way there on editing the material. Going to Cecil put the spark back into me to complete the project. Why does the editing take so long ?? Because Im trimming EACH SCENE to get the most quantity of scenes onto the DVD's. For example - I might have recorded 30 seconds of video for a particular run....but the race itself only lasted 10 seconds. The begining and finishing endpoints need to be adjusted so you get enough intro to see the cars at the lights....the run....and enough of the scoreboard to read the time.....but no more. So that 10 second run may be 15 seconds of footage, instead of its original 30 seconds. Repeat this process....over and over and over again Why bother ?? because - I would want to buy a video that has as much "ACTION" on it as possible !!! And thats all Im going to feel comfortable offering to all of you. Id rather see Run after Run after Run nicely cropped (like what I post here to the board) as opposed to 15 seconds of waiting for the pre-stage light to trip on and then 5 seconds of the time lights......over and over. I appreciate everyone's patience and support....we're on the home stretch for this !!
Alan, thank you for you time and patience putting the video and pictures together for us. I'm really looking forward to watching the video and pictures. I appreciate your efforts. :TU:
Excellent!!! Sounds like your going to have one hell of an action-packed DVD/CD. I've been watching some of the videos that have been posted on this board so far and they look great. Is there going to be any funny clips or massive parking lot/city street video scenes??? That Johnno is freakin nuts!!!! Thanks for all your hard work. Good luck! Sorry to here about the first hard drive taking a dump....... Lon Bauer
Now Lon.....Im disappointed!! that after our meeting in Salem you have to ask If there will be any antics in th video ou: Hey, If I leave the "Yardley and Dolly" scene's out (The Unedited Sheep's Gone Wild - Spring Break version) it should be PG rated o No:
BPG Nationals Website I'm currently working on a Nationals Section of our website. I have some pics and videos that my son did while we were there. Does anyone have any quality pics or videos we can use for the website? Does anyone have the means to get video from VHS to any Windows Media Player format? If you have pics or videos on cd and you'd like to have us use them, please send to: Tri-Shield Performance Mike Bucy 1056 McKinley Street Anoka, MN. 55303 BTW: I do have a great video of Doug's monster Wheele from the Nats on VHS. I'd like to get it into a MPEG format!!!! Anyone interested??
Mike - you are MORE THAN WELCOME to any of the footage I have of the BPG Nationals for use on the website. Let me know what you need......I've only got about 12 hours to choose from :Brow:
Mike - I've got the hardware and software to put your VHS stuff into MPEG or a few other formats. Cole
