Ordered from Opgi because they had a sale. They bomb my email with promotions but failed to inform me they were back ordered. I had to check my account, past orders. No idea when bushings are to be shipped. Who has a sale on out of stock item? Found bushings at YearOne, but only hardware kit is for converts. I own a coupe. Thinking of cancelling Opgi order and going with Year One. Thoughts? Options? TY Jim/Rott

STAY AWAY from those bushings they are junk and dangerous imo, SS396.com has the more correct and bonded rubber style with the correct bolts and get this cost less

    Thanks Hugger
Nothing listed there (ss396) for Skylark 68-72 , do I order 68-72 Chevelle kit ? Also, does 396 kit come complete with core support mounts and hardware? TY Jim/Rott

Here is a source I have been considering. Seems to be complete set at a decent price. I don't know personally since I haven't ordered them yet. Maybe Hugger or somebody can chime in with advice.

This is their listing for 68-72 Skylark-GS. I have been thinking about ordering the kit they have for 64-67 Skylark for my car. Any body tried them? Apologies for the hi-jack

Yea same as 68/72 chevelle, rad support are different possibly im not 100% positive on those just cant remember but they are in the kit , the ebay link is the same deal as the opgi, yearone etc the rubber isnt the right firmness and doesn't have the washer vulcanized into the rubber preventing them from tightening up correctly

Pulled the trigger on the GroundUp SS396 bushing kit (68-72 Chevelle)
Couldn't get a hold of Opgi to cancel thier order, hafta wait til Monday, apparently. Funny how ya can order at any time, but can only cancel at thier convenience. ... live n learn. Jim/Rott

Does SS396 carry a kit for 64-67 a body? Would it be same for Skylark as Chevelle?

Yes, they have mounts for 64-67. They're more or less the generic mounts you can get anywhere else. But theirs comes with a nice flanged bolt kit.
The convertible kit has the 2 extra mounts for the cowl. (total of 4 instead of 2). My '66 GS needed the 4 mounts, maybe your '64 does too.

For a high-end resto, you would want the repo bolts from AMK, and replace a few of the body bushings with correct ones purchased elsewhere. About half of the SS396 kit mounts are near identical to originals.
The SS396 kit works nice, is a good price, and has better hardware than other suppliers.:TU:

    Almost forgot, here's the link:

Thanks for the info Walt. According to their listing the radiator supports are separate. Still a good price even purchasing separately. Are these made like Hugger described above, with correct rubber firmness and vulcanized washer? I'm not doing a concourse restoration, but want to get quality parts.

Hey Michael, Early 64-67 cars didn't have the rubber vulcanized to the bushings. I have no idea if the rubber hardness is the same as original. The 64-7 mounts are 3/4" thick, later cars are 1", so they can't be compared.
I did try the Chevelle rad support bushings and they were nothing like the ones in my '66, had to return them. But I don't know what 64 Buick ones looked like...

I'm using the 4 small diameter bushings for the cowl ,front of shell. My coupe/hardtop takes 12 total plus 2 core support mounts/bushings, so I need to order 2 for core support as was said earlier, shoulda ordered convert kit. Really nice, well made. Fitment good , pop em in with rubber mallet. Now I just gutta get body done.

The closest mount set to original is the one Fusick Olds sells for the main mounts. Cars sells the lower cushions they are part BM644A. They have the molded in washer like original. AMK sells the closest to stock mounting bolts and nuts. No lock washers were ever used on the mounts. The core support only uses a big thick washer and nut. paint the lower cushion yellow if you want to be authentic.

Also you set appears to be short on two plug in mounts. Buick used 4.
