I was going to buy a reconditioned dash bezel for my 71 GS from Then and Now, but heard about this place and ended up ordering one that was $75 less and didn't require a core. I called them and spoke to the owner, Frank, who said he had a bezel in stock for immediate shipping and that it was a high-quality restoration. I said I was particularly concerned about the chrome, and he described it as equivalent to new quality. I finally got it today--immediate shipping took three weeks--and it wasn't even chromed, but painted with silver paint! And even that wasn't especially well done. I called and left a message to the effect that I was returning the part and expected a full credit card refund. We'll see how much hassle this is going to be. In the meantime, my dash is ready to go together and I don't have a decent bezel. Grrrrr.

Y'all are good to go with some credit card companies- they scorch the seller if they are unscrupulous (and even sometimes if they aren't, but just stuffy and unresponsive). I know a guy bought a $3000 Canon camera, and had problems from the git-go. AMEX reversed the entire charge o.0.
I called that place about 10 years ago after running across them on the internet. I called them about quarter panels for 64-65 Skylark. They had them and $1800 per side but the condition wasn't guaranteed. Also they would not take any photos. Also of course they wanted to be paid in full prior to cutting them off. I asked if they had rust. I was told they may have some rust on them. Needles to say I didn't go forward with that deal. I know another guy that called them for wheel opening moldings for a 65 Skylark. They said they had NOS for $2400. But I did have them buy some crappy hubcap emblems from me on ebay for like $10. I found it very strange.
You're right. Got a response from Frank this morning. Basically it was "the dash we sent is beautiful and we never give refunds." Refused to acknowledge that restoring a bezel to like-new condition doesn't mean spraying with silver paint. What a ripoff artist. i bought a mirror from that clown supposedly nos which means wit trishield. it arrived very nice but no trishield so i called him up. he says and i quote o those lousy idiots who work for me sent you the wong mirror but for another 150 you can ship it back and ill ship you the tri shield one.....which i already paid for.........we should have a billions forum for laughs or cries. i beleive ,well i better quit while im ahead but there should be a v8 warning,marty:af:
My credit card company took my side and didn't pay, and Frank called me and said to return the bezel. There is justice in the world after all! Also, an illustration of why it's good to use a credit card when making these kind of purchases. Just in case anyone might be tempted to buy from Billions and Trillions, here's a comparison of the bezel on the right that Frank told me was restored to new condition, and the one I got from Then and Now on the left.
Glad you got your money back. While the one on the right is decent, it's obviously not correct. They will not tolerate idiot vendors and we unlist them from their classifieds. I called them years ago about a shipping dispute for a quarter panel I received from Desert Dog and they sent a letter to desert dog and told them if they didn't make it right, they'd be unlisting them. I received a credit immediately.
Don't know about you but I think I'd wait awhile and have them call and beg and then ask for the shipping charges up front. Art
