    Jason,

Did Jim happen to mention if the "Stage 4" car was an original GSX, and what kind of condition it was in? $56k may not have been too bad depending on the car. Most of the time it was on the auction block we got to see some Mustangs "drifting" out in the parking lot, and missed the description of the car. :af:  :blast: Speed Channel

Lot #963.1 is half the car Jim's is. If that car went for 56k, Jim's ought to do double that at least

From what I gathered from the auction, the "Stage IV" is not matching numbers. I doubt any portion of the diveline is matching at this point.

56k for a non matching numbers, for the most part unrestored, automatic car is good IMHO. Jim said the car was a repaint.

The problem is I am afraid double that is what it will do. That is not nearly enough for that car.

If it's a very nice restored Stage 1 4-speed, I'm thinking it should be worth about four times that $56k! Wasn't there a concours Saturn Yellow '70 GSX Stage 1 AUTO that didn't meet the reserve that was bid to $150k on Ebay about 6 months ago? Isn't a 1970 Stage 1 four speed numbers matching GSX THE pinnacle of Buick musclecars as far as desirability/$$$$ goes? Good luck to the seller, I hope he smashes some records with it! I'm worried too and don't even know the guy.....

Speaking of other auctions, and I really hate to clutter up this thread with even more Buicks, but does anyone know if this is a real/legit '71 GSX up for auction next week at Mecum? 350/455/Stage 1? auto/4 speed? There's no description as of right now, but it looks really good!

It won't let me post links since I have less than ten posts.:(

If I had my $200k Buick there now and it only was up to $100k, I would have a friend buy it! I would gladly pay the fees just to not loose $100k.

Same here, and I think that happens more than you think! Did anyone see the "Expresso Brown" '69 Judge only go for $47k about 30 minutes ago? Things aren't looking good!!:(

    How far below?

I've been watching this with interest too. I can't hardly believe a chevy 427 engine on a stand brought $55k, compared to what the Buicks are fetching. Except seeing that Olds 442 W30 get only $50K proved to me that BJ caters to Chevy, Ford, and Mopar almost exclusively. There are nearly no bidders there for Pontiacs, Olds, Buick, Cadillac. Even Reggie Jackson's nice 50 Caddie didn't get near what I thought it should with him hyping it on the podium.

So for now, let the Chevies, Fords, and Mopars prevail - and the occasional Packard or Nash. That seems to be the way it is unless we get a few of us out there with our cars and start to trade them in public so people can see what they're really worth to us, anyway.

I couldn't post the link until I had ten posts!:( It's the post right above yours though. I didn't want to start bringing-up too many non-Buicks, but the '69 Judge 4 speed for $47k and the '70 W-30 that you mentioned were both STEALS! The W-30 was beautiful, correct, a 4 speed, and that W-27 rear axle is ULTRA rare! I don't doubt just the rear alone would bring over $5k on Ebay. I guess next year I need to get there early with a wad of cash and buy the "off" brands that are deals....:Do No:

I would have grabbed one of the many really nice choppers I have watched go for around $20,000 each. Big difference in bikes over last year. Tony

Now that might be a record! A 1971 442 (not a W either) just sold for $100k!! I have seen W's sale for close to that, but never a regular 442 and especially a post 1970 one.

And a restored #'s matchin '70 W-30 4 speed W-27 rear car goes for half that!?:puzzled: Did anyone see the ~50k mile 350 4 speed white '67 Camaro on the first day go for.......$90k!?!:eek2: I just don't get it sometimes!
