At the very least it's imposing your will on others. Which is rude. Plain and simple. If you know the other person doesn't celebrate Christmas and say it anyway then you're acting like a jerk. Plain and simple.
Or you (plural) are acting like a jerk imposing your will on those who celebrate different holidays for whatever reason they DO ? There are usually two sides to most things ? that is where common decency comes in? That is the problem today as people only want what they want? and screw everybody elses joy!
I don't understand your post. Either you are agreeing with me or implying the guy who isn't saying merry christmas is a jerk.. There are usually more than two sides to most things. I'm quite sure if one is making it a point to say merry christmas with their chest stuck out and the "i don't care" attitude then its no longer a warm greeting. They are pushing an agenda and it is no longer sincere.
Just to clarify my comments, I don't say Merry Christmas defiantly or to be insulting. Its what I celebrate. I just say it. Ive had people wish me a Happy Hanukah too. I don't speculate on their motives for doing so. I don't care either way. They can wish me a happy Kwanza. I say thank you regardless.
