Ok so I get relay, put both orange wires from both fan relays, hook it up too top, then for the prong that gets the power or "fused source "

What do I hook to that ? He makes it sound like I can just run a wire from battery too that prong ? And then from what I under stand the side prongs would make it so I could hook up a switch to over ride my fans?

    Maybe this will be clearer,

Red 12 volt goes directly to the battery

The ground is any solid metal part of the car

The turn on lead comes from a slot on your fuse box that gets energized when you turn the ignition switch on.

I'm running the Mallory comp ss and wired it using figure #2 as I just did not want to mess with the rsistance wire.
I have had no problems at all with that set up. (have 6al box rough wired now though)
I am also running the #29440 promaster coil that is recommended.

I did that first setup I showed couple post prior, but wasent getting any volts at coil so I switched it to this .

still didn't have any volts at coil but had 12 volts at resister wire, and 12 volts at alternator. Did spark check, cranked it any way and old mechanic helping me sayed there was a super bright spark..

car starts fine now drove it 10 miles to my dads and all is well. Car sounds different and runs.. Better, feels different for sure. Not sure why I wasent getting anything to coil though

first setup I did looked some what clean right now it looks like **** though. Wires everywhere in the back of motor, but when I put sp3 il clean everything up.

i put on the msd 6 control box today, forgot to mention that lol happy the cars rolling ,sooner I can get to track and see what the car can do with me behind the wheel

Like I said before, you are using an MSD box, your old coil+ wire is the only thing that gets 12 volts when you switch on the ignition switch. That wire no longer goes to the coil, it simply turns the box on and off. The box zaps the coil with over 500 volts via the orange and black wires.

To help with a future problem, if you plan on running the electric fuel pump or other electrical accessories (stereo, amps), you'll need to upgrade the stock 55 amp alternator. I had that problem when I want to electric fans, fuel pump. Kept killing the battery and couldn't figure out why. Stock alternator didn't have enough amperage to run everything and charge. I ditched the voltage regulator and went with a one wire 160 amp alternator. Added a heavier gauge wire off the charge side of alternator to support extra amps.

Works great and no more killing my battery.
