Guess what??!! My car was picked up from ChinaMike today. Why am I upset? Because it was picked up by the wrong company! I can't believe it. I waited 3 weeks for the first company to even schedule a pick up and finally cancelled the order Friday. I had to pay them $50.00 for the privilege of waiting 3 weeks with no action. :af: So I phoned a second company to get a quote. They took all the info from me but I didn't pay them any $$. I then phoned a third company and contracted with them. Well, the car was picked up today by the second company. :Dou: Luckily the car is in a storage yard where the authorized company can pick it up. I will let everyone know the name of company number one once I receive the refund of my deposit (minus $50.).
    Regards

If Lomond (?) Il. is west of Palatine then, yes, it has made it west! The car is being picked up by AA Transporter from TR Towing tomorrow for delivery to me! Even with the problems I'm now very excited cause it's actually on its way! :3gears:

You could have contracted with me to pick it up for you.

Then it would only be about 1200 miles east of you and in a very secure garage:blast:

Of course delivery west would probably have to wait until after the summer.:bglasses:

    I hate transport companies..

But they're an important part of what we do!

I can't tell you how many companies I called for quotes to get my Centurion here from CA....around 30 of them.

I finally settled on the company that is eBay's OFFICIAL transporter...

and they were still a week late on my delivery.

As I said in the start to this thread I will be letting everyone know which transport company they SHOULDN'T deal with once my car has arrived and I get the refund of my deposit. No one should have to go through what I did. Three weeks and they couldn't even get the pick up scheduled. I called two different companies on Friday and both were ready to pick the car up in 2 or 3 business days. Did I get two really good companies on the same day or one really bad one 3 weeks ago?? :Do No: I'll let you all know once the car arrives. I just very glad to finally have it out of Mike's hair.

    Harvey,
I hope this is the worst of your problems. I have used Nationwide Transport three times with complete satisfaction(they use subcontractors) and it cost 685.00 each time from CA, WA and OR to TX and OK. When it arrives, it will be like Christmas!!! Let us know when you get it. Dan

    Hi Mike,
If all goes as planned it will be here this weekend! :3gears:
It's been such a long time since we first talked about the car that it seems like a dream. I'm counting the days. I noticed on the weekend that you were in Miss. Are you finished in China now or just over to complete the deal on the house?
    Cheers

It's Lemont, and is south of Palatine. I've been past the storage lot there and I wouldn't want a nice car sitting there for long..

The towing company in Lemont is TR Towing. They were the most help throughout the whole process! I will name the "unhelpful" parties once my car is safely in my possession. The good news is that the car is on its way after a very long wait.

I'm back with two days of business meetings under my belt. Holy crap is it cold around here. I'd rather be in Mississippi or China or just about anywhere else.

Okay Harvey, is that truck frozen onto the ground somewhere in the rockies where it's about -30 degrees? Maybe we're lucky the heater core leaks so the freeze plugs aren't called into action. Jesus it's cold out there. What an adventure this shipment has turned out to be!

    Harvey,
So that transport truck should be pulling up to your house within the next couple of days. I know if I were you I would be camped out in my front window waiting....
The day the wagon showed up I sat on my front porch all morning waiting for it and when I saw it turning around the corner I could not have been happier.

    Hi Guys,
Yeah, my finger nails are about all gone now. Nothing but stumpy fingers left. The car should be here early next week. This has been quite an adventure to say the least! With fingers crossed next week I'll be putting some new pics up!

    Harvey,

    Your car has been spotted!

Ken B. just saw it on Highway 18 by SIR at about 4 pm. Not sure if it is coming directly to you or going to a transfer station in Federal Way.

Be forewarned, it is the second car back on the top of an open trailer, and Ken said it is filthy!

You better have lots of soap and a couple of new wash mitts ready before you do this:3gears: :3gears:

The Buick intelligence community in action!

Osama Bin Laden better not make the mistake of driving a Buick or he'd be spotted too.
