Yes, I'm a geek. I admit it. Since age 7 when the first Star Wars movie came out I have been a huge fan and I am looking forward to May 19, the day the final episode is released. Judging by the trailer at starwars.com I think this will be the best. The nice thing is my 9 year old is also a huge fan so I have someone to share the joy with! It's nice in this day and age to be able to escape to a galaxy far far away!

It must be our age. I'm a total Star Wars nut as well. I don't care what the critics say about episodes 1 and 2, I loved them. And my daughter is 8 and she can't wait to go see episode 3 with me.

I am. Been a fan since I was 7 years old. I didn't like Episode 1 very much, but the next one was pretty good, so the last one should be great. Talk about geek, I have a Star Wars toy collection (well what's left of one after my little boy talked me into some of them).

I'm more of a Star Trek fan, but I will go see it once the HUGE crowds die down a bit.

Aint it great having kids who are into it as well? My son is 9 and I have to admit I spoil him with quite a bit of Lego Star Wars toys. If you have a Playstation II you HAVE to try the new Lego Star Wars game. When you hit an enemy his explodes into a pile of lego bricks! Cool!

YEP... going to see it. Been a fan ever since the first one came out.. I was like 7ish too..lol.

More of a Trek fan, but like them both.

Local Theaters here have already started selling the tickets. 12:00 am May 19, and sold out about a month ago :Dou:

I'm getting mine tomorrow...lol. Got to be there Opening day :TU:

I will agree with others... this looks to be the best of the first 3. I liked 1 & 2 but can see why they started with 4 back then.

Not really looking forward to it. Not sure if I'll even go.

I liked the orginal movies. When Episode 1/movie4 came out, I was sorry I paid money to see it and wasted time watching it. The only other movie I felt that way about was Joe v. The Volcano.

    I've haven't even seen Episode 2.

I can't wait either. I already told my boss that on May 19th he better not call me for anything. I was 7yrs old when it came out and I remember crying that we had to go see Star Wars instead of the Muppet Movie. :ball: Once a geek always a geek. The thing that really killed me about Episode I was that they killed off Darth Maul so easy. He was one of the coolest looking characters and to kill him off was to me a really stupid thing to do.

Oh yeah! I saw the first movie on the first day at the first show. I had to take off early from work. When I came out from the theater the line was around the block!
The only thing that really gets me is the time line. Now we are going back in time to see how the war started. Looks to me that there is going to be a big plot twist somewhere, like the empire is really the good guys....lol!

i'll see it but i never bothered to see any of the Star Wars movies opening day ... the crowds are too much of a pain in my @ss.

that and ep 1 and 2 really sucked. the idea of having to suffer through another 2 hrs of Jar Jar is really depressing. and then Lucas makes comments like "episode 3 will be Titanic in space, very emotional" and you realize that he's totally lost his frickin mind. sigh. but i guess i have to see it just to complete the set. chalk this up for a matinee viewing. :spank:

i realize that ep 4,5 and 6 aren't high 'art' but 'empire' and 'return' are both very good movies that are both amusing and exciting (in the correct places mind you) and 4 is still pretty good now that i'm an adult ... ep 1 and 2 are just embarassing.

IMHO, I felt ep 2 was the best with episode 5 (Empire) a close second. I felt Return of the Jedi was the worse. Those Ewoks are more annoying than Jar Jar (well, now that I think about it, Jar jar was pretty damn annoying too!)
I saw ep 2 on IMAX and it was incredible. The CGI detail was fantastic!

i'd have to say episodes 4+5 are the best with episode 6 in third (i agree the Ewoks ruined ROTJ) followed by 2 then 1. the new ones are have great action and effects but Lucas has lost his edge when it comes to dialog. Obi Wan, Anakin and Padme are dull, they're written way to serious. Han, Luke and Leia were more real, interesting and funny. with that said i still cant wait to see ROTS. :TU:
