Moderators staying busy with this post. ou: I kinda figured this one would wind up this way. In hind sight, I believe another post being edited could have lessened the blows..:blast: but who knew it would come to thiso No: Live and learn I guess.....
Hi Wayne, We've found that hacking posts can only make things worse, because it PO's the original poster even more. And people do have the right to post their opinion, although I'm not one to ruin someon'es own thread doing it.o No:
I agree with you Adam. I just thought the statement about the post I was refering to would have been better served in the Seller/Buyer feedback forum. But again, I agree, people do have a right to their own "opinions":beer
Ya know, I've around the Buick venue for a lot of years (36 years of my 49 to be exact) and it seems like we have become a bunch of whiners. Somebody did this or that, it happens all the time. No one person or company is gonna satisfy us all. We have different personalities, ideas and just click better with certain people. It doesn't mean that one person has all the answers. I've talked to Jim Burek, like the guy, has always been helpful. I've sat down with Jim Weise, same feelings. Jim Bell ,same. Do I use one of them exclusively- not on your life. I take what each has to offer and weigh it against what I know and most times can afford. I guess what I am getting at is this, this board is a great help to all of us. I am thankful for the information shared by everybody. If I have a problem with someone I go to that person. We all need to realize that we occasionally have problems with someone. If you can't rectify the problem ,go elsewhere. But I really feel any person or vendor on this board will try his/her darndest to fix what's wrong. Just my$.02 worth.
And just when you thought the waters would calm, here comes Kelly splashin' around! Messin with you Kelly, you shot me some good advice in the past and I went with it. Belated Thanks:TU:
Unfortunately I would have to disagree with the rest in regards to posting similar type info. I would consider Jim a friend of mine. He has shown me things that I really appreciate both automotive related and "otherwise". And just like any other friend I have, I would have to say that stuff like this is exactly what he doesn't need. I mean really, you put up info just trying to let someone onto a little thing that might help them and you get someone attacking you. WHY ???? And why open yourself up to such attacks ? In my opinion Jim, it would make a few "experts" nothing but happy if you didn't post anything like this again. And I would think no less of you if you didn't. In fact I am impressed that you replied to the _ _ _ _ in the first place. later........................
Brent Thanks for the Brilliant insight....We will all run faster now that you've enlightened us. Can't wait to see what my car runs now that I have your OPINION
Re: Opinions!? What Bruce said!! If all a person wants is one man's opinion, they can use the phone or e-mail, not a bulletin board.
You either misread my post or I'm misreading yours, because you completely lost me. It sounds like you and I are on the same page as far as JB is concerned. I also don't understand what I posted that is so bad that I shouldn't post it again. I have no favorites or least favorites on these boards, all have given out a ton of information that they didn't have to and all have my equal respect. o No:
Mike, I think he meant the last passage for Jim Burek, but the first part I'm trying to comprehend too.
I was connnnnnnnfused too! I think you 2 are on the same page. Whew! Im following this thread too close. :bglasses:
Freedom of speach is one principal that our Country was founded upon!:Smarty: I don't see any need for "wacking posts", unless they are not STRICTLY WITHIN THIS SITES POSTED RULES. Sometimes I personally feel like some Mod's get a little carried away with that power, BUT that's not my point. Fine line here.. a lot of judgement calls I'm sure... I have some opinions and a little experience of my own.. but sometimes its better to shuttup and listen, and NOT voice my opinion. A lot of threads I have to just read, then just take it for what it is. I'm still learning to "bite" my tongue.. Jim B., PLEASE don't stop posting! Thanks for the info!:beer If you, or anyone else feels or is made to feel uncomfortable about posting such information that is or could be useful to the Buick Community....... (DAMN, my tongue is bleeding!:af: )
adam is correct But dont think we will set back and let someone start a war tho!!! :spank: we MODS will allow everyone the oppurtunity to hang yourselves first before we get out the edit buttons!!!!!
Thanks Adam for your honesty, I was wondering.. Mike, was that REALLY necessary? I almost feel like I'm back in Grade schoolou: (See Yaaa!) What's the way back to the COOL threads?
Trashed? actually it is an absolute riot! I come and question a guy who builds engines for money and you guys take after me. Jim B has taken a total pass on this whole thing and posts like he is some kind of victim of my questioning. So, it still has not been answered, why did a supposedly reputable engine builder work up a 600hp engine and not reinforce the lower end? It was reportedly an expensive build, has to be with alum heads, Jim B admits that a fill or girdle would be a good idea. What am I missing? Seems to me from visiting this board, talking to engine builders and having gone through a build myself, that common sense dictates some reinforcement at that power level. I thought it was a legitimate question, one that is still unanswered. If skipping something that important on what was surely a $10,000+ engine is OK with you Burek supporters, then I'm happy to watch you throw away money. It was never anything personal, just hoping to open some eyes to an obvious oversight. Happy New Year.
