Man that's nice. Think he'd take 247,500 and my Hemi Cuda in trade?

Big deal, I got one of them too:bglasses:

Seriously, that is one nice car. :TU: Not sure about the price though. I think he's a little optimistic IMO.

About 15 years ago, there was a guy in Winterhaven Florida that had a real '70 Stage1 4speed convertible that was like that. NO power options. I wonder if that ratty convertible is still in that storage miniwarehouse on Wrecker Highway?

He supposedly has something like 10 Stage 1's plus a veriety of other years and models. Lasrt one I saw for sale was a 59 or a 60 Electra that was at auction. Ive seen a picture of a nice 71 GS 455 convertible in Cortez gold he owns

Someone needs to let that Olds restorer know buicks did not have red spindles! Nice enough but really 250k maybe worth 50 to 60k in this market

I think 50-60 is a little on the low side IMO. I bet at Barrett Jackson that GS could hit 150k. But thats "all the money" for it. Craigslist is certainly not the right venue for a car of that caliber.

That's what I was thinking. Plus, seems kind of funny to elaborate on the fact that an OLD's expert restored this Buick. :puzzled:

Cool sleeper. Too expensive. Unless Charlie Sheen calls up drunk and buys it it will barely make 100K. It's just the way the market is, especially the Buick market. IMHO of course.

I believe this is the car Demon340 offer for sale here on the board a couple years ago. I had heard it was NJ being restored. It was bought by a flipper out that way. Demon 340 was asking 20k I believe at the time of the sale. I'm having an epiphany here....Maybe I'll undercut his price by 50K....so I can sell mine!:Dou: Yeah that's the ticket!

Yea really. And the backing plates should be natural, not painted black.
Lots of wrong in that picture...makes you think how the rest of the car was done.
To bad, because it takes about the same amount of time to restore a car the correct way or the wrong way.

At that price, he doesn't want to sell it. Either his wife wants him to get rid of it or he just wants to brag that he has it.

Its curious that he said its believed to be 1 of 10 cars optioned that way. If you think about it, with the amount of options and colors, how many of the 664 cars do you think were made exactly the same?

You could probably say that each one is 1 of 1 at that point.

I doubt it would get anywhere near that Jason, I don't think the 4 speed and strippo build sheet adds that much value. Super nice GSX Stage 1 auto didn't even get to $100k at the last auction, and there were two 70 Stage 1 auto hardtops that sold for $38k and "forty something". I don't know if there have been any "real" sales of 70 GS hardtops (non GSX) in that range, even at BJ?

Maybe Marco can eleberate on this car it says in the stage 1 registry. Yeah I don't really think he wants to sell it too bad. Someone needs to let him know that Olds and Buick are different suprising it doesn't have red inner fenders.

FYI the 20k mile 70 unrestored GS Stage 1 brought 46k I think at Barrett Jackson in Jan. That car was a timecapsule and worth that much for sure. The 4 spd usually adds 20% maybe a little more to a Buick according to price guides. To break 100k a car has to have impeccable restoration and all papers and probably low miles. I think a 70 GSX went over the 100k mark in 07 or 08.

Anyone know the highest price paid for a GSX or Stage 1? I heard rumors of a GSX 4 spd going for 187K a few years ago. The only GS thats worth this 250k IMHO is the GSX prototype and maybe the Motion car. John Chamberlain's neon red Buick show car wasd bid to 150 or close this year.
