just working on the engine fitment since it the headers were against the chassis. I've modded the mount again yesterday and still have to fit it and just been tinkering with the wiring for a bit. what would you recommend in soundproofing ? I just can't seem to make my mind up with what to go for, either 8 mm felt under the carpet or bitumen padding, or something like dynamat ( not that stuff since it's ridiculously overpriced here) and need to save a bit of money to order a **** load of parts again that i need But no real big progress for now But thanx for the intrest ! Regards Lennard
I am using this stuff, it is supposed to be the best you can get: http://www.fatmat.com/bulk/rattletrap/100.html
Hey guy's it's been a while since i was last on here currently busy with the dashboard of the car and the electrics of the car And i did install fatmat as well in the cabin, works quite well it seems although i haven't started the car for quite a while now progress is quite slow due to money issues ( just bought an apartment myself ) here's a pic of how the car looks at the moment and does anyone know what this is for ? i figured it must be a radio thing but can't find any info on it in the workshop manual ( org 1975 GM ) ? Regards Lennard
I have not been on this forum for quite a while and Im astonished at the amount of work you have done to get the car to its current condition. Im lucky with my Buicks as rust has not been a big issue mainly to the dryer climate of Australia. Well done.
hey guys, got some more small work done on the buick. I've been busy with my own place ( bought an apartment here ) so i haven't had much time this year yet to work on my buick. Goal is to get it on the road when it turns 40 ( may next year ). here are some pics again front end going back together back end together and lights working painting the inside of the bumper with epoxy primer against rust Im trying to learn how to get all the stainless trim restored and nice again 1st time welding with stainless wire grinding it back again 2nd time welding since there were still al lot of imperfections sanding with 240 grit paper wet sanding with 400, 800, 1200, 2500, and polish after You can still see some minor things in it, however it isn't very noticeable in normal light ( camera makes it look way worse ) took me about 2.5 hour to get rid of a 2inch dent and rip in the stainless. Pretty good effort for a first time i recon. feels like it takes forever though not sure if i'll start over with the small stuff since its at the bottom of the car anyway. Regards Lennard
