Oh, and John is right... it does look to have a aluminum intake with for sure a double pumper something so maybe at least a b4b with the 4781...
Miles ahead of you on research already . . . Aluminum Intake, double pumper carb, Stage II hood scoop, but it definitely left the factory with a 350. And yes, It's a '72. I didn't offer to buy it though- not without seeing the Stage II heads anyways. Guy . . . ROAD TRIP!
Enough of the speculation. I left a message for the owner to call me back. I'm going to be withing an hour of High Springs this weekend. If it looks like there's any possibility of this being what he's claiming it to be, I'll be on it.
Let me (us) know what you come up with. I still think he or somebody tried to make a stage II, but it aint no stage II. Hopefully Im wrong and somebody saves a piece of American muscle car history.
It's a '72, cause he gave me the VIN. You want those elusive pics of the heads? Here you go . . . I would assume that you got these too Donny? Too bad they're not Stage II heads . . . Part of me wanted this car to be real; well, as real as a Stage II can get. Just another GS 350 car with a 455 transplant. Here's the VIN- 4G37K2H150109
Vince sent me the same pics. Nice guy. Someone told him that it was a Stage 2 so he's running with that. It's an original '72 GS350 with '71 bumpers and grill, an open rear end, bench seat and what he describes as minor rust in the quarters and around the rear window. Definitely not a $6700 car.
Sooooo glad I did not drive the 4 hours up there when he first ran the ad. When he said he had no time to send additional pix, I figured that is was not a Stage 2.
Yes, I think it does. And someone tell me why when I open this page my computer tries to load photobucket?! Seriously aggravating!
