    Jim,
He is not the original owner and I don't know if there are any docs with the car. Will see if and when I can get it if he knows any history. Lon

BTW, noticed you list in your sig a '72 GS 'vert. Back around '91-'92 I saw a '72 GS 'vert sitting along RTE 219 in Ebensgurg. When I stopped to look at it it turned out to be a legit Stage 1 'vert:shock: I remember checking overall condition of the car (pretty decent) and running the numbers that I knew of at the time (which checked out). Asked the owner if it was for sale, to which he replied in the affirmative:TU:. How much I ask - $3500.00! I thought it was too much and walked away from it:Dou:

Heck, if you agreed on $1200 two years ago, I think he'll take a grand for it now. I'm sure that it didn't get in any better shape in two years. Probably a few more parts missing from it now too.

$1000. Lets see... a 4spd set up with all the parts, hood, grille, wheels, etc. The sum of the parts seems more than the whole car price.

    Lon,

I am sitting here trying to figure out why this car isn't already in the garage and why we aren't looking at the pictures of it?

    What's the hold up????????

Original hold-up was the purchase of our farm. ALL my spare money went here. Then after I didn't move on the car the owner thought he would "fix it up" and at least moved it into a garage. His son told me to wait until the early part of spring before going back over. Hope I can hold out that long.

Does the guy know that you still want the car? I'd make sure that he knows so that someone else doesn't beat you to it. One of 101. Geez, don't let it get away!!

It's a good thing that car isn't out here on the west coast cause it would just HAVE to be in my garage. Jump on it now.

Here in Kansas, I know where a 72 stage 1 4 speed is also. Basket case just like the one your looking at. But this guy, of course has talked to people that told him this car is worth alot, and he is wanting 5k! If only he would come down. Pete

His son does! I have to talk to him on Monday and I'll see if I can make a move on it this week. Lon

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Love the story Pete! I hear that crap all the time! Car is worth a lot of money??? Then, why do you still own it???? I don't see a line outside your house of buyers waiting to buy it!

I run into elderly owners here in FL who think their all orig, plain jane Skylark is worth some money because kids are always asking if it is for sale! I ask them how many have showed up with money? They pause and say none! Kinda funny! Oh well !
Here is my name and number and when you get tired of all the punks and no-money lookers wasting your time, give me a call for a fair price deal ! You would be surprised how long before they call back. Had one lady call me back 2 years later. Too bad car sat outside and rusted away. Was not worth anything then!:af:

I guess some dumb people take a lot longer to wise up!:eek2:

Keep up with a follow-up, maybe he will wise up! Never underestimate the stupidity of some people!:Dou:
