This car was campaigned by Norm Dihle in the early days of the GSE racing. It was brought to the midwest back in the earlyh 90's and pretty much looks as it did back then, the paint is showing some age though. Its a real GS 455 car, 1099 non staged cars were built in 72.

It currently has a TA Stage 2 455 motor in with t400, motor and trans has less than 500 miles on them. It was built by Eric Ruge here in Eureka ks. [Eric has the 8 sec 62 skylark chasis car here] Ruge Automotive. This car runs great and sounds awesome. If someone is interested please pm and I will call you to tell you the history since I have known the car.

Any thoughts of selling this car minus engine or engine/trans, and keeping that for your prostreet car?

    If so, PM me.

What kind of cam, converter and rear gears does it have under it?

Sweet looking car. I'm wondering how streetable it would be. I'm not looking for a daily driver but I'd like to be able to sit at a stop light without having to throw it in neutral.

Greg, This car was built mostly for street driving by the previous owner.

The cam was a design that was picked out specific for this build by Eric and Mike T. at TA. I dont think its any secret grind or anything but was specific to the stage2 se heads. The car was intended to have the AC reinstalled by just never got put back on. It has a b4b intake with 1000 race demon carb, it idles fine on the street.

The T 400 has a switch pitch converter in it with a 4000 stall. I believe it is a PAE. This trans was built in Whichita at Chance Transmission, it was put on a trans dyno and dialed in to shift at 5800 in drive. That way all you have to do is drive the car with both hands and your foot on the floor, it works great. The swith pitch can be activated by a switch on the shifter or when you apply the brakes it also engages so idling at a stop light is absolutly no problem.

The rear is a 10 bolt with 3:90 gears, its been under the car since Norm installed it. I just put on some fresh tires MT Drag Radials 296 65 15, they are basicly 30x10 in tires. I also have a matching set of rear rims that someone could put slicks on that go with the car.

Earlier this year I also had an x pipe and new magnaflows installed, it sounds awesome.

Any 1/4 mile times / speed, or expected 1/4 times. What does the car weigh? Dynoed Horsepower? or expected H.P.

I have only taken it to the track once, only made 3 passes. The tach was not working so I raced it in drive, 12.18 @109mph. Didn't really push it.

I am planning on running it at Pinks All Out here at Heartland Park this weekend. Not sure if I really want to waste my weekend for 2or3 passes in two days. But I guess its really about having 15min of fame if your in the group picked for the race.

Brought it home to get it cleaned and ready, so if anyone wants some specific pics just let me know.

Pinks Race was interesting at best, just had to remember we were all contestants not racers.:Dou:

Whoever booked that event for July needs their head examined. Heat index near 110*, car was in the mid 12's. Alot of people said their cars were .5-.7 tenths off normal. Air sucked :af:

Not sure if I can make it to Bowling Green in Oct.

Car picks the left front tire off the ground about 4" each pass though:3gears:

That's good news! I'm very interested in looking at the car. If you are taking names for when you get to BG, I'd like to be on it. I live here so I can pretty much meet any where, any time you arrive.

This is a great car with great history. I remember Norm bought the car from John Chamberlain around 86. Norm had the car painted and in (I think) 91 this is the car that we swapped cams in the parking lot of the holidome and the car won it's class with Dave Senderhoff driving. Senderhoff had driveshaft issues so his car was out of the race, Norm's car wasn't quite fast enough so Dave said that Jim Bell was brining him a KB 107 that we swapped in, used Dave's intake and 1000 cfm TQ and as I said, the car won it's class! Fun times for sure. I also recall a lot of people looking at the intake ports and commenting how stock they looked during the swap. A cool car for sure!

Dave, any luck yet? Wondered if anything happened offline for you. For me, I've had quite a few offers of trades but nobody with cash yet...
