Well i told you i would let you know how it went with the car and just as Steve had described it this car was a total bondo bomb! My buddy that won the auction had his mind made up that he was going to go and check the car out and make a decision when we got there. Well it took about 2 minutes to see that it was a total waste of time! Well needless to say we told ole Louis SEE YA and headed back home.The car might be worth 2 grand tops if you wanted to strip it for its parts and sell them. I'm sure louis will die with the car cause he seems to think hes got some rare nice car and anybody that sees it thats SANE will turn and run. He kept trying to tell me how much he had put into it and i tried to tell him that i understood that but the facts were that its not worth that. Hopefully Both he and his daughter will stay off of ebay and nobody else will have to deal with them. ou:
by any chance they laid eyes on the caddy...?? I was wondering if that was as cream puffy as he described to me by phone... ou:
The Caddy Frank - I sat in the Cadillac in an old garage where it is stored. It's a very nice car with somewhere in the 90's on the odometer. Louis said it was his wife's car from new. I asked what he wanted and he said 7500. I bought one just like it at Spring Carlisle this past year for my mom with 83k on it in equal or better condition for my mom for 3000. when I told him he seemed unphased. I did like his black/red combo and it may be worth up to 5k for someone who "wanted" one but I think that draws very near the upper limits of value. Drew sorry it didn't work out for your buddy - those types of trips are a bit deflating but hey look at the bright side. Ebay Guys please don't beat up on me for this post but here it goes. First I would never bid on a car "site unscene". Second the guys feedback would have turned me away right away. I will not deal with members with bad or low amounts of transactions they are just trouble! I hope things work out for the buyer and follow up with a retraction of the deal, AL.
Hey Steve i really appreciated the phone call even though i couldn't persuade my buddy to not go. :Smarty: Either way we made the best of it, my brother lives in chicago and when i told him i was almost too the Dells he laughed and said we were crazy.(tell me something i dont know) Maybe someday are awsome Lions will be able to beat up on the Packers(there i go dreaming again) Ok thanks again and take care.
