Some people just won't sell their cars, especially if they are rare ones. A guy I know has a 100% original (except tires) Yenko Chevelle he bought new. I personally observed him turning down an offer of $150000 for the car he paid $5000 for new. Money is not always the equalizer, sometimes it is all a matter of timing. Hitting the market with $$ at the point in time that someone is selling something you want. I have also found that sometimes the harder you look, the less you find. My stage 1 ragtop will quite simply never be for sale. Ever. Even for 1,000,000 dollars. I don't care if you don't believe me. Well, maybe if my kid needed an operation or something. I would think if you kept waving 250000 around eventually something would surface, however. Good luck!
I agree with Chris, sometimes it isn't about the money, people just won't let their cars go. I know of a 9,000 original mile 70 440 4 speed charger in town. All original, one owner. Has every bit of documentation down to his payment book and the scratch pad the salesman used when ordering it. Never painted or apart. Black on black with redlines and poverty caps. Car is very, very nice. Documented by Dodge as a survivor at the 03 nationals. The owner is in his 60's as just drives it in nice weather occasionally. He has been offered over $100,000 for the car, and just walks away. The running joke is that it has survived 2 wifes, 3 houses, and 2 kids. Tony
Yep, & hopefully someone on here. As it turns out, "SS" block & "BB" trans, both with the matching vin derivative. This may have been the 1st 70 stage 1 conv built (08E). :beer :bglasses:
I believe this matching #s GS was sold to a board member :beer I know he was looking for one for about 5 years :TU:
