    It's this car.

It's in the registry (missing all options - listed at #2), and Mark tells me he has the 'BB' transmission.

Hey, what is the matter with a basketcase stage 1 convertible? I turned down $7000 for mine less than 6 months ago.

I think this one will be a tough sale due to its location more than the price.

I know my tow vehicle and trailer won't float!

    That's right Marco

I remember reading that now....If I were buying it, I think I would have a large POD delivered, then I'd fly over to load all the parts myself. :Smarty: :Do No:

I don't know if he will have interest locally... This guy must be living my nightmare. :Do No:

I think this one is beyond my skill level.

Can you imagine spreading all that out on the driveway and then bringing your wife outside to see what you just brought home. :eek2:

Hopefully someone will get it that can devote the time and resources that's needed to save this car.

    He says:

    His feedback is only 92%!

If it gets cheap enough someone will bite.

Why not open that wallet real wide and buy a running Stage 1 convertible?

Wew! Amagine the logistics of crating, boxing, and shipping a project like this.

I have opened the wallet a few times but have found very few takers. I know some of the guys on here thought I was crazy when I posted that I would pay 125 to 175k a year ago for a 4spd stage convert! I have been succesfull in buying to stick stage converts that were good cars BUT I am still looking for the great car. Original paint, numbers match, low mile, survivor, 4spd. Would I pay 250k for the right car???????????????????????????????

    I don't think you're crazy...

I just don't think the car exists in the condition you're after. :Smarty: :Do No: :(

I hope you find one though. :TU:

Marco is right. Compared to Mopars, including the rarer hemi cars, your criteria is a search for the proverbial chicken lips.

I have had some chicken lips. A real difference is the opportunity to purchase chicken lips. The mopar guys says lips today are 750k give me 900k and it is yours. The buick guy says chicken are 250k but I think that is to much I could not ask that for my lips they are really only worth 100k but I would not sell it for that. CONFUSED

Compared to some Mopars the rarest Buicks are tip change cars even at 250K.

Im more than happy to have buicks sold cheaper...that just means you get more for your money, while the mopar guys throw their money and however much at any rare mopar. If it wasn't for buicks being cheaper than your average classic, I couldn't afford to even fix my car, as far as im concerned, im a low wage person who wants a car that I can fix up and make just as good as any junior muscle car and call it my own for a really low budget. I couldn't even do that if I had a normal ole malibu. But with my '76 century, yes. I wouldn't be so happy if buicks were as high as their competitors in price, that's why im keepin my fingers crossed that so many people stick to their chevelles/goat-ies/and mopars, they can have them. As for the buick crowd, we get the big advantage to be truthful.

A great car is not defined by it's cost. It's cost is defined by the buyer. There are a lot of great cars that are inexpensive just as there are a lot of expensive cars that are not so great.

I agree with that. Buicks are one of he last great buys along with some AMC cars, and some Fords like torinos.
