Ok. Let me preface this by saying that new means something that has been replaced in very recent years, and brand new, is something that I replaced and has basically no use yet. This is a very solid, original paint, Freemont CA, rust free car. I have the build sheet removed from the top of a shiny gas tank that still has blue writing on it. The interior is complete and VERY nice looking with modern buckets that will accommodate most any sized driver and a nice aftermarket center console for drinks and storage. The carpet is brand new. Glove box liner and package try are brand new as well. The entire interior was dark green and has been painstakingly dyed and or painted to black. It looks nice. Very nice. The buckets are leather from a Hyundai and fit perfectly. They are very adjustable to suit your needs. Big guy, small guy, doesn’t matter. Everything has been painted black and detailed with silver. Windows are slightly tinted and nicely done with laser cut tint. Brand new Sony Xplode 6x9 speakers are installed in back and 4x6s in the kick panel area. No sound system yet. The entire trunk area, behind the rear seat and under all of the new carpet has been insulated with a Dynamat material and part of it with fiberglass insulation. All of the window mechanisms have been lubed and work perfectly. Doors open and close perfectly. All of the lights and stuff work. Speedometer appears accurate and in dash (aftermarket) tach works as well and looks nice. Front 1 and rear 1” sway bars with grease able poly bushings up front. Boxed lower control arms. 2” lowering springs in rear with new shocks. 2” drop spindles up front with new springs, shocks and drilled and slotted disk brake conversion. Includes adjustable proportioning valve for rear brakes. Many front end parts appear to have been recently replaced. 245s up front and 275s in the back. Back appears near new, front is nice. Dog dish caps with nice black wheels.Drives straight down the road. Peg leg 2.56/2.73???? 72 455 with rebuilt 800CFM Qjet with 30PSI HOT oil pressure. Crane points conversion. Timing chain was replaced by previous owner and the oil pump was blueprinted with adjustable regulator and booster plate. (VERY RECENT). Stock manifolds. Choke works as it should. New fuel pump as well. Looks like new fuel lines. TA frame pads with new motor mounts. Recently rebuilt Turbo 350 with huge external trans cooler and braided lines. 2 row aluminum radiator with stock fan and brand new fan shroud and fan clutch. (170 is the highest I saw) Exhaust is relatively (very) new looking with Flowmasters. The engine is BONE DRY. Trans has a slight leak at the shifter input. It may have stopped? Trans also has B&M deep aluminum pan. Underhood is CLEAN. Some of the original paint has been waxed. Underside of the hood has been painted. Onward. The car is way clean underneath. No rust to deal with anywhere period. Window channels front and rear are perfect and require nothing, cowl area has been cleaned and painted along with the screen and wiper arms. Core support is perfect as is the battery tray. Did not know these were galvanized? Grill and front end look very nice. Body is original paint and has surface rust where the paint is gone. EVERYTHING that will normally rust is in PERFECT condition. This was a vinyl top car and the top is even in perfect condition. You won’t find a more solid car to paint. Bumpers are as nice as you will find and appear near new. I was offered $1000 for the pair. I have all of the stainless with the exception of the body side molding. It all looks exceptionally good. Beautiful actually. What the car needs. The driver’s front fender has a dent at the headlight, and on the driver’s side, there is some old body repair behind the rear window. It is shallow. The gas gauge doesn’t work right. I’ll fill you in on the details later. No biggie. Probably something I did wrong. New sending unit and pickup. Pics will follow at some point soon Asking $7500 Greensboro NC Jay Davenport 336-255-4126
BTW James Weinmann (board member) has expressed interest and will have first shot as soon as I can take pics and finalize the add. It will be for sale locally as well. jay
Most people's pictures look better than the car does. I give up. My pics always look like crap. I swear I don't know how people take good car pics.
Not only do I have all of the stainless, I have all of the AC stuff if you want to put it back on as well.. Jay Davenport 336-255-4126 Call me
This car was parked next to where we were pitted at the Piedmont event. Perfect stance and wheel/tire combo. Super solid car, and I would drive it as is. Glws
If I had $7500 kicking around Id have this... I think it looks awesome as is...The patina and wheels make a great sleeper look...good luck with the sale, someone is going to get a very cool car.
Thanks Jay. I sent the pics to my buddy Mr. Turner and he does not want to hold up a potential sale and said to pass it along to the next interested buyer. He loves the car but needs to sell his race car first. Thanks again for the call and the opportunity. The car looks like a great deal and will no doubt sell quickly.
[h=1]meandsnugs[/h] You are up. It's a good time to buy a car from me because all I want to do is move to the beach and paint fire hydrants.
Jay, didn't you just purchase this car recently? Why are you selling? If you were closer, I'd buy it..... But shipping would be a deal breaker. GLWS
Yes. I bought about 5 months ago, with no intention of reselling it. I've done about all I can do "correctly". I could fix the body and make it look nice. Get it sprayed at MAACO, and it would look good.. But, it would not be a professional job. And I would still be selling it. Much like the GS and the Turbo Car I sold, it just sits there. I've no where I want to go, and I want my garage spot back. I drove about 50K miles for work last year. I've quenched my thirst for cruising around.
