    NEW PRICE $22, 500

copy below is from the auction...side note is that the 15" wheels are add on's as the car had 14's on it when I bought it. Older pictured show what looks like 15's w/ Wide Ovals...but I can't tell for sure what size. When I bought it had 14" wheels in semi fair shape with cruddy radials, so I bought a very nice set of 15's from Mark Lob

Up for sale is my 1970 Buick GS455 Convertible. This car was considered by many the ultimate sleeper for years. Now that collectors have learned the prowess of the 350hp/500ft lbs torque GS455 on both the street and strip, these cars are considered by many to be one of Detroit's finest musclecars ever produced. This particular car has a rich history in that it was a display car at the Volo Auto Museum, where it was purchased and kept in a safe environment for years. Since I have owned the car it has always been kept indoors.

The car is numbers matching and rust free, a rare combo in itself. The unmolested matching numbered 455 with ram air is in the car as is the TH400 trans. The rear end is a non-original upgrade to a 12 bolt posi 3.55 (originally an open differential). It also features a/c, which is rare on convertibles. Other options are p/s, p/b with aluminum drums, cruise, tilt, deluxe interior with bench seat, repro tach and 15" ralleye wheels with BFGoodrich radials. The car is a true survivor in that is has never been restored. Current condition is extremely nice driver/local show condition. It still sports its original 455 engine, trans, interior and most sheet metal. The driver side fender has been replaced years ago in a minor fender bender. Rather than do a bondo repair, they replaced the fender. The only add-ons prior to my purchase were GSCA club headers and a AM/FM cassete radio. I have since added a Norm Dihle numbers correct rebuilt carb, Mallory electronic distributor and wires but still have the original carb, distributor and wires with the car. I have also added a correct Delco stamped power brake booster, master cylinder, replated hood latch, rebuilt OEM wiper motor and washer pump. I have replaced the u-joints, alternator, battery, starter and solenoid as well. Other than that, this car is just as it rolled off of the assembly line and has been preserved beautifully. The bumpers still shine beautifully and are straight.

The car does have the original interior, which has faded somewhat after nearly 40 years. The passenger seat has a pleat starting to separate, but otherwise the interior is gorgeous. The rear main has a slight leak. After sitting for a few weeks, it will have a tennis ball sized damp spot. No other leaks anywhere...antifreeze, power steering, trans, fuel all good. I'm presuming the top is original, but still very nice.

Recent appraisal of the car was right at 40K in the current condition. Please feel free to contact me at 913-438-2909 during business hours 8am-5pm M-F

I should also add, I do have more pictures including some undercarriage photos and trunk photos showing how clean the car is that I can e-mail

I'm now taking a loss, call and we can discuss price if interested (just keep in mind crazy low offers will be dismissed).

112K, the odometer reads 12 and some change of course, but according to the service record trail it has flipped once. I did find a receipt for engine/head work back years ago in the early 80's plus a trans rebuild. The engine work must have been basic plus head service as the numbers are all still visible.

I wish my timing was different and I didn't have to sell when the market is so cool, but that is life. i won't give it away though either which seems to be the mindset of some of the flippers right now.

Seen this time and again, very nice Buick GS for sale,at a very, very reasonable price. As these cars are rare, desirable, wanted, etc.,his price is down because of the current market/economy,why are the prices for parts always so high as they represent a percentage of what they actually should be compared to the cars total value? It seems you can easily overspend on parts and have more into the cost of the build/resto then what you can sell the car for.If you found this car as a basket case, and want to restore using all NOS metal, seeing the prices as advertised,go buy rad support,1/4's,fenders,inner fenders, grill, etc and you will most likely drop 7,8,10K on parts, then body, paint, interior, engine and such.Does'nt make sense!Obviously the parts are a hard find, and by not making anymore O.K,but people have to stop thinking they have gold ! It almost shows you should be buying the car all done, let someone else take the hit,as you can have it right now,and for less!!

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I had a 70 GS455 vert years ago the looked very much like this one and it sold on ebay for 23500. Your car looks really nice and like SHERWOODSTAGE1 said buy one done its much cheeper in the long run. You get to enjoy it right now. I must say though many people like to restore a rare car and enjoy seeing it come back to life. though it is more money to do it many will say at the end you know what you have when your done and it is the way YOU want it.

that is the thing with this one is it is still original. Somebody could still restore to day 1 freshness, with a bunch less cash or leave it and drive it as the original sweetheart it is (which is why i bought it after looking and lurking around for several years).

I've owned a very rare GS but just a rust bucket so I am used to seeing where the rust can hide on these cars...this car is just very clean

yes, I can email you some pictures. The car has the original carb and a Norm Dihle carb on it now. I did buy a carb from you...at least I think it was you, but never used it (I thought this had a mis-dated carb on it, only to get the thing off and it was in fact the original date coded correct number carb with correct number). The one I have from you is still sitting on a shelf in the garage

    Wade,
The storage space options I thought I had have fallen through.
I don't want to sell anything right now to make room. I'll let you know if anything changes.

    Thanks
