I have come to the conclusion that i cant handle two projects at once and i need one car out of my garage so the 70 has to go. 70 GS350 with numbers matching drivetrain. options include buckets and console with power drivers seat, tilt, factory tach and gauges, AM/FM, rear defroster, map light and trunk courtesy light. Body has no rust with exception of a small amount under battery tray. looks like most of the rust is confined to the inner fender and the core support is fairly solid. the paint is original and i find no signs of any prior collision damage or body work. the vinyl top was removed and there is no rust in rear window channel or on the top other than very very light surface rust. the grill is original and has a small crack on the drivers side top rail which will be a very easy repair. no material missing. headlight bezels are excellent and unpitted, hood lip chrome is also excellent and unpitted. front and rear bumpers are straight and excellent for drivers or perfect rechrome candidates for a show car. tail light lenses are undamaged. trunk floor is rust free and the spare is the original. all jack components are there also. all trim in good shape and all glass in good shape with no scratches or chips. wheels are cragar 5 spoke and are yucky. Interior is original and needs attention, dash is in good shape with no damage, dash pad is fine with no cracks or tears. tach and gauges all work. seats need recovered, carpet needs replaced. headliner has a couple seams coming apart. door panels are in good shape and saveable. window cranks are worn and should be replaced. I have the repro trigger bar and shifter clip from Mike G but was waiting to install until after carpet replacement. Engine received bearings and rings on a stock bore about 20k ago but I had a dead cylinder and when i pulled the intake i found a bent and broken pushrod on cylinder 7. i also noted the lifter on that exhaust lobe was cupped and ther cam lobe was showing odd wear. a recent leakdown test showed a bad exhaust valve on cylinder 3. I drove the car home and the tranny which was also rebuilt at same time shifted great and it's obvious it has a shift kit. car has new dual exhaust with crossover and what appear to be turbo mufflers. even with a missing engine it had all kinds of power when driving it home. I have two options, I can install a low mile 72 350 in the car and sell with the original engine or i can let the buyer take it the way it sits now for a lesser price and they can rebuild the original engine. I have a new performance cam, pushrods, lifters, rockers and gaskets for the original motor if a person wants it that way. engine is still in the car. 6000.00 with original engine and new parts 6500.00 with 72 350 installed and car driveable (no new parts) also willing to consider trade for 86-87 GN or turbo regal drivetrain
Is this for your 67? I have a buddy who has an 87 T-Type that has a case of body rot but runs and is complete. I will ask him if he is interested in such a trade.
Chris, I have the history and service records that date back to the early 90's and actually have the protecto plate and a huge folder of receipts. the link below is the car back around 1999 http://home.flash.net/~stanbrad/p70gs22.htm yes i would use the GN engine and trans for my 67
In case the sale falls through: how much would you knock off for a fresh 87 Turbo longblock and trans?
Great Score Mike. I am so glad this car sold so quickly or I might have spent money that was destined to finish the Suncoupe
