black headlights Thanks for the reply I didnt think anyone would notice. But they are black now! When I had the grill and headlights and bumper removed to put the engine back in, I blacked out the headlight chrome. I know there had to be a donor car used by who ever changed it from a green bench seat to black buckets.. so I assume my headlight chromes were from that car. They were probably in better shape. I like the look of black better though. I attached another picture The wheels are chocked because the transmission was still out at that time.
good move...btw..is that flat black or glossy ? bcs I was ready 2 call the Buick police team on you...
Another edition to the family 1972 Buick Electra 225 Limited has 125k loaded (except for CC and trunk release) 455/400
I'm new to this site. It is a wealth of info glad I found it, I'm sure my wife isn't. 1972 Skylark 54 K 2nd owner- My grandpas brother ordered it new and I have the order form
Al---I love your car----I have the 72 with redlines--2 pics above  Pete I really want a 4spd!!!!!!!!
Thanks!! Your GS looks like my first GS I bought in the late 70s and really like that combo!! :TU: I waited 20 years and looked for 5 years for a 4-Speed GS and didn't care if it was a BB or a SB. Scott Miller sold me the one in the picture and still supports me and the car 4 years later! Red lines are so cool, my 68 Chevrolet has a set on it now and trying to find them in a quality radial isn't easy. I will say you need to get a 4-Speed Buick the torque of a Buick engine behind a manual transmission is incredable!!! AL.
Hi John!!! Thats interesting! At one time Coker was the only one that had them in limited sizes (not mine)(225-70-R-15)(Corvette). I bought a set of 225-70-R-15 from Diamond Back Classics. I wish the BF Goodrich were available when I bought mine, BTW going to Salem? AL.
John I saw BFG advertised also (before I bought my Diamondbacks 235Rx60x15) but I called here in SOCAL and searched the net and could not find BFG---this was in November maybe things have changed. Pete
Here's pic of my 70 GS taken at the NE chapter spring meet. The dorky looking guy stirring the gears is me Aquamist Stage 1 4 speed. Buckets, console, no air 3.64 rear car. A real brute!
Sorry guys, but this 72 Electra 225 will be donating the 455 to my Skylark. Now before you brow beat me, these rust free cars are a dime a dozen here in AZ, I paid $1800 for this one. I can't get a good 455 for that price. The TH400 shifts great too. Electra parts anyone? Some of the smog stuff is already spoken for. Anyone ever seen an interior like this one?
I just realized I hadn't posted photos of Chris Lott's old GS in this thread since I got it. Soon to have a set of springs that hopefully aren't as shot as the ones in the car are, the correct rear seat cover, and a new top maybe over next winter. you can't really see it in the first pic but the top is pretty grungy and ratty in some places, but the car doesn't leak! I drive it every day now that summer is here... rain or shine. Just doing the basic mechanical stuff and enjoying the car :TU:
