New Addition-70 Stage1 Here is a 70 Stage 1 that I just rescued from a field where it's been resting for the past 4 years or so. It's a factory fire red paint (code 75) with a pearl white bucket seat interior. It's rough but it is legit! It has a non-original 70 GS455 code SR engine and matching BA trans(To the motor). Original 3:64 positraction rear w/ boxed trailing arms and swaybar. Factory tach and gauges, bucket seats & console, aluminium front drums, beltline molding, 14x6 painted rims with trim rings and plenty of rust. Was damaged in the front at some time ago, so now it has a green RF fender, gold GS hood(damaged but repairable), and what appears to be antique gold drivers side fender. I looked at this car over a year ago and ordered the Sloan information on it which confirmed it was a Stage1. Only recently was able to buy it from the second owner. He has owned it since 1976. When I picked it up, the owner gave me a packet of info that included a copy of the bill of sale for when he bought it in 1976 and the Protect-O-Plate. It needs lots of work but it is a good color combo and it is documented. I will probably end up selling it as it needs more than I'm willing to invest at this time. I already have a 70 GS455 convt project that has been apart for 1 1/2 years. Here is a few pics. Thanks, Larry
well, that's my 71 Riv.... originally red... as you can tell in the engine pics (underside of hood nearest windshield).. dunno why he painted it gray... I'm thinking of a midnight blue metallic of some sort... also considering a metallic red. If the clearcoat wasn't coming off of the hood I'd probably not care to paint it, given the expense.. grr that and some rust around rear window on pass side. am I the only 71 riv owner who has the original hood ornament? and might someone have a grille? lol
Here is one of a 70 GS 455 I just picked up, figure I better post the picture now before I sell it and it is someone else's!!
Chris, you haven't sold that one yet? It's been like 72 hours...I think your getting attached!! :TU:
now that's a nice electra. I could have had a 73.... There's this old man in my town who's the eccentric millionaire landlord type... has all these old cars, including a nice 73 electra 225... just rusting and rotting away in backyards, not willing to sell them, not willing to drive them. grrr
Thanks! It is a shame you can't get any of those Buicks from the old man. They could live on as parts on ours! Here are a few more pictures of my baby:

OK, I couldn't resist This is my recent acquisition. Basically all stock, original interior and engine (basic 350 2bbl) but I've put time and $$ into frame, suspension etc. - and a paint job to make 'er look shiny!
