DL- that was the FIRST GS I 'restified'. I bought a 68 GS 400 from John Schmidt out of Ohio- a very nice, mint green/ white vynil top, white BUCKET interior w/ headrest, shorty console car...rebuilt original 400/TH400/posi, AC, remote mirror, etc... That 68 had a PERFECT white interior, solid floors.. Had quarter and fender rot. However, John included a pair of Tabco's and a set of fenders. Was going to restore the 68 but found a quarter sized rot hole in the frame.. SO, the 69 received the driveline and Tabco's from the 68. Painted it 2003 Corvette 50th anni. Maroon. Put in black buckets, tilt, shorty console. About 3 weeks after it was finished, I sold it due to getting married, buying a house, etc. We wet sanded the heck out of the clear coat. The paint was deep.. Just glad it's still around and is being enjoyed!!!
Here is a couple pics of my dads 68 skylark convertible. It has a gs california nose on her and a 455. http:// http://
My new 71000 mile original owner car.I think its a true survivor. I've taken off rims/hubcaps due to severe dry rotting. 1969 skylark custom 350-4 Non A/C
I bought the car pictured in my signature while deployed in Iraq in 2009. I have only needed to do basic maintenance and drive it when the weather is nice. It has 46,270 original miles and has never been restored. Its a custom with a 350 and the auto trans. Points have been removed at some point and has an HEI. Other than that she's stock.......for now :Brow:
Hey guys. I need some help identifying my Buick I bought it as a 1968 Buick gs 400. But the more research I do I believe it's either a 69 gs 400 clone or maybe a not. Or its a 68 gs400 stage one I found old stage one emblems in it . The vin says 68 but it has a lot of 69 or stage one features including 2 hood scoops it's automatic with a floor console a/c car original 400 motor . Any help would be gladly appreciated thanks. my phone won't let me upload pics but I'll get some up a soon as I can.
