theres a 67 special being called a GS on ebay told the guy its not a GS have not herd back from him yet # 4601575200
I say it's a Skylark with a GS Grill but is that a Special Interior?? And how about those exterior side mirrors?? :bglasses:
it would nice car to clone a gs340 . yet i beleive it has a skylark hood(because of the spear) yet its not a gs now. looks like a 67 special to me with a pair of gs emblems on the quarters ,plain black int. , no dash or door panel badges , no scoops , no grill emblem , gs340's engines were red , this ones green , probaly a two barrel . some people think they got something they dont . has anyone wrote the seller ?
I thought in '67 the "Special" grill and the GS grill were the same but the Skylark was different? o No:
Yes...Special and GS had the same grill but the Special had a Tri-sheild on it. Skylark had a completely different grill. To be sure about this car, we need the VIN and the Trim Tag would be nice too. And that's a 300!!!! I have the same thing. Even if it is a Special/Skylark....IMHO...he still wants to much for it.
That could very well be a special with a w-1GS appearace option. I own one of these the option gave you GS emblems on the grille qtrs and reartrunk trim.I would say this car has that option because otherwise it would have a thin chrome trim on the trunk. Also this car has Skylark/GS chrome vents on the fenders rather than the special porthole trim. These cars did not have hoodscoops. This option could even be ordered on a v6 special. So don't be too certain that someone put emblems on a special. Tim
67 special not a GS spoke with the seller today and said he was going to change the ad. he was told it was a GS from the previous owner
Tim I have never seen thin decklid trim on any 67 car. Weather it be a Special, Special Deluxe, Skylark or GS Cal.,340 or 400. I have on the 66s. Do you have a picture? I think there was a thread on these cars a while back stating the only way to know for sure if it had the GS appearence package was to have the build sheet. o No: Ray
Ray I may be wrong on the trunk trim but I can be almost certain that this car is a w-1 special it is optioned identical to my wifes car aside from the chrome on the door frames. Tim
Tim you would know better than anyone. You have one. This car seems to have Special trim on the deck lid (no emblem). Also no dash emblem. I've never seen an interior like this. Also there is no rear seat arm rests in it. Is yours the same? Ray
Yes it is just like that car.It should have a GS emblem on the trunk also mine does. This was a pretty rare option it was discussed on a previous thread but I can't remember the thread name.It should have Special V6 vin # but have a Special V8 # on the cowl tag. Tim
Don't do that it WILL taste bad.I thought the same thing when I bought the car we have but could'nt argue with the $800.00 PRICE. Tim
To be a bit nosey on this thread...A month ago, my mom gave me a Saturday Evening Post magazine. Its really big and this is all I could fit on my scanner, but I think you can get the point.. Dated April 22,1967
That is a 67 GS 340.In 67 ther was a GS400,GS340,California GS,and the W-1 GS appearence package for Specials. Tim
I thought it was the W-1 Appearacne Option? In either case, there were evidently only 544 of these made. I have seen several around here, 2 of them with V-6s.
