It'll be interesting to see what happens when you take it to the track next time.

    I predict you'll be happy!

I'm thinking ditch the clutch fan for electric and change to smaller non ac crank pulley and non ac water pump pulley if you haven't yet to free up HP rather than make more

Sounded like a much better shift, nothing wrong with that there, clean, crisp, but not jarring

That would help. IF John's willing to switch the parts. I've got alot of back reading to do. But, did you do the Distributor curve, and the 750 Q jet or 800 Cfm?
I went back to the first post of this Chapter 2, There has been alot off John's list completed.
    The list has evolved some.
Ide like to see the next time slip
14 was not bad for a big car.
Hes going to be faster now.
It's really down to the tune..
450 HP is really good. you have a car you can enjoy.

I've mentioned this to John a few times in hopes he'll bite the bullet and do it!

If it were several hundred less, it would already be in the car.

Yes, but then he has to convert his SP to fixed pitch.

I wonder if JW makes a custom converter for the SP trans??

JW has 12" and 13" converters for the SP. He had trouble locating the smaller 12" ones, not sure if he has any in stock. In any case, JW's 9.5" fixed pitch converters make the SP obsolete IMO. Add the fact that they are likely as much as 15 lbs lighter, and it is a no brainer.

How is the conversion from SP to Fixed Pitch done?

So it would be easier and cheaper for john to just to swap over to a th400 and shelf the SP

You need to change the front pump and input shaft.

Do I bring the Rivi to the club meet on this beautiful day?
Only issue would be I would be driving nearly 2 hours at night afterwards.
Gonna cost like $40 to do it:eek:

Sounds like fun. And a good reason for a test drive. Keep your foot out of it if you can,...
Maybe only cost 30 bucks. The weather must be nice up there.

If you want the pleasure of driving it, sure, but I wouldn't. We will be inside the whole time, eating and drinking. The Spring meet is April 19th. I can wait.:)

I don't know about that. Buying a complete transmission and then having it rebuilt? John, talk to Mark DeConti tonight. He can tell you what the conversion entails. I bet you can do it with the right tools.
