I can't see the part number on the box, but here are the part numbers I have:

    981248 - 67-68 Special-Skylark-GS
    981275 - 67-68 LeSabre-Wildcat-Electra
    981334 - 68 Riv

    980758 - 64-65 Riv
    981094 - 66 Special-Skylark-GS
    981275 - 66-68 LeSabre-Wildcat-Electra

Each one was listed for $11.95 each:Dou:

The above info came from a 1968 Buick Accessories booklet.

I have found that both the buttom and the pump systems are found in 67's. The button type would be the one that is shown in the accessory brochure and the correct part # and would be what I would add if I was adding one to my car now. My 67 had a trunk release added prior to my Grandad picking it up new, and it is the pump type which functions perfectly and fits perfectly. I have parted out a few 67's that have had one or the other, I think in 67, it was what the dealer had in stock, plus the pump unit was a far easier install.

Do you need to run a vacuum tank or can i just connect it directly to a vacuum source?

    Thanks

The vacuum can will allow you to open the trunk when the car is not running. How long the vacuum will last in that can depends on the number of leaks in your system but I know I could open mine a few times after the car was shut off. I am not sure where this can was mounted though? I put mine on the firewall since that is where it was on the '67 electra that I removed it from but the correct position on an "A"body?
