If so what did it look like and where was the switch mounted?

    Thanks

Not from the factory but I think you could get one dealer installed. The switch was usually mounted in the glove compartment on all of the cars that I have seen.

I can honestly say I've never seen one on a 67. I've seen numerous on 64-65's, they have the pull handle mounted in the glove box on the upper left hand side.

not sure where it would mount in a 67 as the knob and bracket is pretty large.

For Pontiacs I believe by 1967 they had gone to an electric remote trunk release.

My '63 Grand Prix has the vacuum version, and the (pull) switch does mount in the glovebox.

No pull switch on the vacuum trunk releases, only a button that is pushed in. I removed the whole assembly (vacuum can, trunk release, switch) from a '67 Electra and installed it in my old '68 GS400 coupe without a problem. I think Buick offered the vaccume trunk release up to at least 1968.

George, I believe Racebuicks has one for sale right now minus the vacuum can.

    George,

There are many parts to the complete vacuum trunk option so it may be difficult to find a complete system. There is one on ebay right now though..

Here is a scan of an accessory page that shows that it could be purchased for a '67 GS. I have also included a picture of the glove box mounted switch, I believe the Buicks used a red colored switch though.

George, if you do end up with this item could you take a picture of the instructions and send them to me? I have an NOS trunk popper system and it came without instructions.

George, I was just going to ask you if you had a part number for the 67 year, but now you have done that before I could ask. The number on the box I have is the same as the number you listed.

George, other than the canister and lines here is what I got in my kit. I dont have instruction so I am unsure as to what is "should" to be in there. I hope this will help.

The one on ebay has a part number for a 66 Riv if I remember correctly. Look at the part numbers in my previous post because they came from a '68 Accessory book, they don't list one for the '68 but it could be an early release accessory book that is incomplete for the '68 part numbers. I can't check the ebay number right now because I am at work and should no be on the internet

I think the main difference in the kits would be the interface between the vacuum unit and the trunk lock. I made one from a '67 electra work on my '68 GS by modifying that interface piece.
