65 wildcat 4spd convert

  1. the console was secured by a 2 1/2 " chrome flat phillips head screw that went threw the carpet and into the floor, I did not feel any raised bracket under the carpet that it was attatched to, is that correct? The Zbar through the firewall appeared normal but I am not an expert on Buicks(plus I've converted autos to 4spds that would pass for factory) If the car had been an automatic, where would the shift indicator be? on the steering column? the cornering lights (one side) did function properly with the turn signals. the rear carb # was O 1460, the head was 1196914, motor L X 446 H9 37726. Very straight, easily 110,000 miles as by seat wear, yes flat. new carpets and green paint everywhere, applied to cover all. scraping in the jams quickly revealed a light metalic blue. nice color.

here's some old carbs that really suck the petro.

Rear carb is a `64 unit. The front is most likely a `65 unit with the 2nd type trunion. The car was likely created from an original but very rusty 4 speed car. I`d bet the Fisher Body number is out of sequence with the vin. You`d need to establish a relationship between the two numbers via legit cars and make a comparison. :eek2:

Well, now the guy knows he has a fraud. I hope he is not trying to perpetuate it. Getting screwed does not justify doing so to another. And hopefully he knows we know and will be watching...

  8. I spoke at length with the current broker. he has read the three or four linked threads and is aware of the actual condition of the car now. :Smarty:

Cool, this one has been tracked for a while now. When it first showed up the engine was described as a high compression 401  with dual quads... I think I still have a photo from that time- around 2002

    XBaldwinmotion I own a real 65 super wildcat 4-speed wildcat custom convertible...white/red.
