well I've swapped rears in two cars in the past two days, but i have a GS posi rear to put in the car now. I'll probably get my old rear out tonight and get the new one all cleaned up and ready to go on tomorrow. I also have to change the shocks and figure out the exhaust while the car is up in the air. I was able to get the door handles and door locks on the car. I'l try to get some pics from the side of the car later tonight.

I put the rear in the car this weekend. replaced the axle seals and the bearings. had to put longer wheel studs on all four corners to use the rims that were are on it. Managed to get that done. installed the window felts in the doors and Started to try and install the headliner last night....not fun. Had to drop back and punt for a minute, but now at least i know what i'm getting into. Will give it another shot tonight. Also i figured out where i'm going to install the ECM. I just have to get a bracket that holds the computer and i'm going to bolt the bracket where the stock speaker bolts to. I didn't plan to use a speaker in that location anyway.

Made lots of progress last night. hooked the battery up and tested all of the lights. Everything worked. Head lights, low and high beam, tail lights, turn signals and running lights. The dome light even worked. I am using the GN brake switch because i need torque converter lockup so i had to swap connectors for the brake lights to work right. they were backwards. The lights came on when you were off the brake and went off when you hit the brakes.

Used the fuel pump test wire to jump the fuel pump and the car made fuel pressure with no leaks so that's good. Also installed a relay off of the ignition switch to supply Key on and Cranking voltage to the computer and the alcohol controller. Now i just need to hook up the VSS and a couple of wires for the check engine/low alcohol idiot lights for the dash. Then I can put the dash back in the car and try to start it up.

Only bad part was the wiper motor is dead. Not a major deal. just need to get that fixed before i take the car through inspection.

I got the dash all back together last night. finished hooking up all the wires and the gauges. Put coolant in the car and will start it up tonight. I'll try to post a video of everything tomorrow. I was able to hook my laptop up to the computer and get readings from the coolant, air temp, MAF, and MAP sensors so i'm pretty confident that the car should fire right up....we will see.

    update:

The Car started right up last night. turned over about 5-6 times and started right up. Added trans fluid and let it warm up. It wasn't running all that great and we found out the 2 & 6 plug wires were crossed. Also the coolant fan didn't kick on. We didn't have key on voltage going to the relays. Fixed that issue and took it for a ride. Car drove pretty good. There is something going on with the trans. It shift out of 1st way to early and flares really bad going into 3rd. I'm suspecting this is a TV Cable adjustment, but haven't checked on that yet. The computer through a Check engine light with a VSS code while we were driving it. I think i had the adapter for the vss wrong on the trans so i fixed that. didn't drive it again to see if those issues are fixed, but have an appt tomorrow morning at the exhaust shop to put exhaust on it then i'm taking it through inspection. I should have more pics up this weekend. :Brow:

Made it through Inspection today. Good to go for 2 years. Now i just have to put the interior in it and i should be good to go. Surprisingly everything engine wise worked on the Car. The torque converter even locks automatically. The issue i was having with it not shifting into third ended up being the New TV Cable adjustment. Ended up getting three in exhaust from the downpipe back with a straight through magnaflow muffler. unfortunately my alcohol pump locked up me from sitting i assume and the new one won't be here until probably monday so i can't do any "proper" testing. :Brow:

Once i get the interior in and the car washed i'll post up some more pictures.

yeah sorry about that. I've been slacking on the picture deal. Don't have any really good ones. had to put the car on the lift to check the brakes. The brand new rear brake hose collapsed. Had to replace that. While i'm at it i'm going to swap out the front brake pads/hardware and wheel cylinders. I also epoxied my old TV cable back together so it will hopefully not leak and allow me to adjust the pressure correctly. The only pictures I was able to get was of the new exhaust while the car was up on the lift. On the plus side my new alcohol pump came in yesterday and that is working. I didn't take the car for a ride, but the pump is flowing. I also managed to get the whole interior in the car this weekend. That was fun modifying skylark interior into the sedan, because you can't buy sedan door pads or anything :af:. It did turn out pretty good though. I'll try to get pics of that tonight.

great build ... not to be negative but those welds look pretty crappy on the exhaust...would be afraid they will crack and leak

Yeah that's because we crammed the stock downpipe into the 3in exhaust. This is only a temporary solution until I get enough funds to buy the 3in downpipe. I just had way too many things going on right now trying to get the car done in time for the East Coast regional event this weekend.:)

Nice start. a little more playing around and a different downpipe and you will be in the 11s no problem i bet. what is your actual goal for the car?
