Having spent every Sunday for the past 3 months working on my Buick and leaving my wife home to sit in her wheelchair all day, and even though she never complained once, I decided we both needed a day off from it so we took a ride over to LeClaire, IA to Antique Archeology, home of the American Pickers. It's just under a 2 hour drive from here and it was a nice day for it. I have to say I was a little surprised by the place. I wouldn't go so far as to say we were disappointed, just that it wasn't quite what we expected. Both buildings are much smaller than they appear on TV and 90% of the picked items there were marked NTF (not for sale). Instead, the newer building was little more than a souvenir shop. Oh well, we went there to see it and that's what we got. We had a nice day. Life goes on.
You know, somehow that doesn't surprise me. It like Pawn Stars, the shop looks impressive but really there's nothing there and the "stars" are no where to be seen. Makes for great reality TV, but nothing else. Good to hear you had a good day though.
Working as usual, my boss called Friday night to ask if I could come in 4 hours early both days, the dayshift operator somehow got his foot caught between his boat and a barnacled seawall. Yuck. Any how I'm spending 24 hours boiling water for Seattle !! I did manage to track down some info on my rear spoiler mounting needs. Talked to cstanley-gs on the phone, nice guy and made me feel confident about getting it bolted on!! I'd have it made if I could bring my projects to work!!
The Nashville store is the same way...NFS stuff but what's there is sky high stuff I can pay for. Mostly a souvenir store.
Was busy getting a privacy fence and the foundation for my new garage in the backyard! I'm stoked. Working in the house garage was getting really old.
Worse, it's a Navistar 7.3 Diesel IDI (International) Tbe frame and tbe exhaust and the solenoid are in the way of getting to the unseen bolt at the top of the starter.
