For the first time in a long while, I'm actually doing some car work. I have the dashboard of the Buchev almost completely torn apart. I am removing some of the old Diesel wiring that is no longer needed. In the process, I found a couple of mechanical things that need some love, so I won't be able to complete the project until at least late next week. Right now it's pouring here in sunny SW Florida (over 11 inches of rain in the last week and still counting). I admit to being a bit of a pack rat; I never thought of myself as much of a photographer, but I have been going through a couple of thousand photos. I have managed to toss perhaps 150 of them, and I did find a bunch of photos of the early part of the Buchev project. Now if I could only find the project book to put them in...

Fixed a broken exhaust hanger on the Riviera this morning now one of my mechanics and I are headed to diesel dyno days and truck pulls to watch the carnage.

Color sanding and buffing the Regal, started this project a little over a week ago and still at it this weekend. Sometimes when I get involved in these projects I think I have lost my mind. I have an air buffer and my compressor won't keep up with it, but that gives me time to have a beer and practice my darts. Its times like this I realize I really am getting old.

Went to a nice show Friday night with my buddy who has a 69 z28, couple hundred real quality cars. Then him and I went to cars and coffee this morning, we were even joined by the one and only Ken Warner with his awesome GS! Nice turn out, I'd off the cuff guess 500-600 cars.

Took a few pics of this skylark at the show Friday, really nice unrestored 69. Chatted with owner and his wife for a few, nice folks, didn't get to ask if he was a member here.

Attended a local car show with about 110 other cars. I, as usual, had the only buick.

Our weather broke on Wednesday, we've had four straight days of sunshine.
    Rain returns tomorrow....

I tried to get the starter off my F250.
I need an 8" extension for my ratchet wrench. The six inch is too short, and the nine inch is too long.
    Maybe a deep well socket.
My truck is at my home. And thetools are at the storage garage with the Buick

I will be fixing the garage door torsion spring that just snapped:mad:. Unfortunately I will have to order the parts since no one stocks them locally. Earlier I did get a chance to get the GS NYS inspected so its legal to drive it again:) Hopefully we can get the door open tomorrow to get the wifes daily driver out and my Buick out and move them to the other garage.

Had the Electra out today; felt great to drive it. Then started spending money I don't really have on the Evil bay again, managed to find most of what I needed to put factory cruise in the Electra, just looking for one last diaphragm, the so called "power unit" that actually drives the accelerator. So a pretty productive day, that is if what I bought actually works and is as described. Man, I hope so...

Marc... make sure you go over the entire unit looking for spider web/cocoons. Nothing better that a dry warm little hole to build yer house in. They really seem to like propane too. Picked this up (thinking of you as a watch guy for the reference library !) at a swap meet for 25 cents U.S. Looks new. Any interest? Itll only cost the cross boarder shipping to get it to you. Let me know... ws

Just tinkering around the house. Fixed fencing and broken boards. Daughter broke into the 16's last night for the first time barrel racing Abby with a 16.5 and then an 8.4 for the arena race. Two first place finishes.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Set up pallet racking in the "yard supplies/tools" room in our shop. Mowed our too dry, but too shaggy not to, lawn. Then niece and nephew's 40th anniversary party. We drove the Skylark pervertible.
I guess I will have to remove the carb today. No fuel in the bowl after sitting over night. Too much cranking to start.

Update on my original post - I was at the Buchev's dash again this AM. I am thinking impure thoughts about the engineers at GM who decided that it was a good idea to run the vacuum hose to the cruise control brake disconnect switch, inside a wiring harness. I like my wiring tidy, so will have to completely unwrap the harness to get the hose out. Grrr.

Yes, I'd love that book for the library! Thanks for thinking of me! And thanks for the advice, I think the cluster is coming from a wreck, and who knows how long it was laying around. I'll PM you my address; send it book rate or the cheapest way possible; don't bother putting any tracking on it or anything like that because it gets lost at the border and is meaningless on this side of the line anyway.
