455s in 1969?

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

Sure it was ... it was sold to the nice young adults who restored it with the 455 in it

By the way - you should be proud of the work you did on the car. It looks like it was very well done.

Just to state what was implied above, "It was not sold by the Buick factory with the current 455 in it." There is no question but that they are to be commended for bringing the car back. I just hope projects like this will not divert their attention from their reading, writing and math lessons in school.

    "we no wat we have"

    "alls we no"

    "maby instead of critizising"

    "old eoughf to drive"

    "thats wat its all about,"

Their need to focus on their studies at age 14 is paramount and much more important than the resurrection of an old car --even a Buick.

Sadly, that is the way kids spell these days. Texting and MSN have kids shortening words and using abbreviations. I watched my daughter on MSN and it was hard for me to read it and fully understand what she was saying.

The English language is evolving, and it's too bad. Some of the spelling I see from even young university educated engineers is brutal! Spell check only picks up so much, but not wrong use of words such as...no/know, we're/were/where, etc

 I read your sentence very fluidly.
I agree about these kids. They should listen twice as much as they speak.
The lord gave us two ears for some reason?

These kids did a great job, and should be proud of it. I seriously doubt they made up a story about that 455 being original, they were probably told that and lacking much true Buick knowledge really had no idea.

Take it from me......some people eat this ''non original'' engine stuff up, and will test you to see if you will admit what you really have. Believe me, I know, it happens to me a lot.

Perhaps they have learned a very valuable lesson about selling cars, and someday will appreciate our help from over here on v8. I give these kids credit......when I was that age I was still tooling around on my mini-bike! :) :Dou:

For those who don't know what "poco" stands for, it's local slang for Port Coquitlam, BC, which is a suburb of Vancouver.

I wonder if the "Pickton family" reference is to a person named Robert Pickton, who is currently on trial for some rather nasty offences.

Robert Pickton owned a pig farm on the outskirts of Port Coquitlam, where it has been alleged that he committed upwards of 40 or more capital offenses.
