Here are a couple pics of a serpentine belt system I am currently working on. All the pulleys are done, just need to manufacture brackets for the idler pulleys. I hope to finish up in the next week or two, then try it out on my car. I will post more info on pricing and availability as soon as possible. You can reach me by e-mail if you have any questions. Rob.
Nice work! 2 questions: 1) How much space does it save on the front of the motor? 2) Do you need to change out any of the stock accessories to make it fit? Thanks! - Freed
:jd: That is just plain COOL!!!! Please post when you have a firm price!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek2: Gotta have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WoW :jd: Wow! is that just going to bolt right on? Damn!, when you get that finished, I'm going to want one too!
The pulleys will bolt on to original accesories, the power steering pulley is the "keyway type" and the water pump pulley is for the longer, more common water pump. As far as space, it is the same as stock. Rob.
2 questions Rob, Got a ballpark price, and will you offer that serpentine setup for air conditioning?????
This'd look great in a Regal 455 setup, particularly with the Electric fan to keep everything exposed! Sign me up when you're ready!
pulleys Let us know when you will have this kit for sale. I want tobuy your other pullys but would rather have the serp. setup.
Well, I'd be real interested if this saved any space at the front of the motor. I'd love to throw a 455 in my S-10 and any space I can save at the front of the block would help. Nice setup! - Freed
I am going to be installing the system on my car tonight for a test run. I will let you know how it goes.
i'd love to see it but i dont think there is enough wrap on the crank pully. that small amount of wrap has to drive EVERYTHING. if it works like that though great.. sign me up for the AC version. Nate
Yeah, GM went to a reverse rotation water pump on most serpentine systems for that reason--couldn't get enough contact on the crank OR the WP without it.
Rob, Are you using any type of tensioner on the setup or just a tight wrap with the alt adjustment? May be a problem with high rpm losing contact with the pullies. Just a thought not a smackdown. I think this is a outstanding idea with the billet pullies.
